The longer I think on this the madder I get. 

 

Honestly, it just feels like BioWare doesn't even care about the fans anymore.  I've loved their games for so long.  I've almost always been a positive supporter and when I had problems I stated them respectively and then let it go. 

 

Now I feel like, why should I even bother to be a customer?  They obviously don't care about the fans.  Some of us can't afford to travel the world over to attend cons.  Some of us don't like reddit/tumblr/twitter.  My FB is personal, I'm not using it to comment on their stuff and have ppl creep my page and I'm not making a 2nd one.  So, I guess that's all my problem now. 

 

Wanna talk about your excitement for upcoming games? TOO BAD!  Wanna discuss lore? TOO BAD!  Want to talk about your favorite quest/story/character with like minded individuals? TOO BAD!  Want to have discussions with others and get their points of view? TOO FREAKING BAD! We don't want you!

 

If you can't praise us in 140 characters or less we don't have time for you.

I saw that tweet from Gaider. Then I saw Priestly respond with a "Bye Felicia" and a winky face. Gaider liked the comment. I had to look up the term "Bye Felicia"......and I see now what they actually think about us. All these years, all this time. Yeah" #iPlayBioware " what a laugh they must have gotten from that. People sending them stuff; thank you's and art, and all that.....

Besides "respectful" is a relative term. Relative to how I'm really feeling. For example, right now I'm feeling pretty disrespectful. There are alot of things I want to say. So, the mighty effort I'm employing to communicate respectfully may still have a little Bite to it.  But compared to what I really want to say, it's pretty darn respectful...trust.

 

It won't make a difference. They did this with OT.  They did not change their minds about that despite the feedback. Pages and pages.

 

There is a part of me that thought along the lines of @FieryPhoenix in that maybe this is a forum "reboot".  And everything will be nice and shiny, etc for ME:A and what comes next. But why not just say that then?

 

So, yeah. I think I'd like to see a poll where people are going. So far all I see are Reddit; RDF; VSN and TSG..?

 

Such a shame, but they apparently... just really don't like us. lol! I mean, I thought they did, sort of, even though we got on their nerves. But hey, they got on my nerves, too--I still liked them, though.

I stopped lurking for a month. A month.

This is like coming back from vacation and finding an eviction notice stapled to your door. And that'd be alright, yeah -- bitter as all get out, but fine, sure, whatever -- except you know very well that you've been paying your rent. Despite the aging infrastructure, sometimes shoddy maintainence, and occasional fist shaking of the landlord, you've paid the darn rent. You've loved the bloody property, even though the roof still leaks and the electrical system likes to play Russian Roulette with your cardiovascular system via uncovered outlets + Death Toasters.

And yet, here is your eviction notice. Please collect all belongings, lest they be tossed into the nearest lava pit upon closure. (Do you know how impossible it is to pack up 6-10+ years worth of personal belongings??)

I'm being melodramatic, but the irony that this is both my first and last post on this site isn't lost on me.

Right now, CD Projekt RED is everything the BioWare of old was. And while their forums aren't nearly as active overall, they do have an undeniable sense of community, with the developers and community manager regularly popping up to chime in.

Still catching up on the thread from, what, 4 hours ago? -- since this is an (un)official going-away party, there's a lot of posting traffic.

 

I just need to quickly say that I got around 2 hours of sleep. For the first time in my life I hoped that something, all of this, would be a dream.

 

But no.

 

The more I think about this the more incredibly ridiculous it seems.

 

 

This has mostly derailed other things I had planned to do. So, thanks for that.

I tried VSN and someone from there even PM'd me, which I truly appreciated, however with that site, like others, real life topics are also found, and, right now, real life is no good. I will check out the second and, who knows, maybe something similar will happen for Mass Effect, alas, not right now.

I've always liked and respected Gaider. Probably as I agree with a lot of his viewpoints. He seems bitter about the way he's been treated by some fans, understandably so. Still, it would be nice if he refrained from rubbing our noses in the fact that we're losing our forums. The 'bye, Felicia' line is tactless. #stayclassy

Yeah, I care about my money, too. BW/EA wants to be just any other company, they can be just any other company--which means used BW games all the way.

 

I rarely buy brand new games and I never pre-order games. BW was the only company I did that for. No more. Nope. Make no mistake, I will take from you. If it looks good. I will get it, but you better believe it will be used every single time. I will make it a point.

I actually did too. Same with Priestly. You complain about your dysfunctional family but it is still your family. They had to deal with a lot of crap, but it's unfortunately a common thing in gaming nowadays (which frustrates me to no end), Still, there is a lot of quality in here too, both past and present. Why to disregard it all?
