What is up with this 'bye, Felicia'?
This explains its origins: http://www.bustle.co...all-of-a-sudden
Basically, it's a way to dismiss people you don't like.

It means you couldn't care less that someone is leaving. The joke being that the person isn't really called Felicia, but you don't care enough to remember. Basically they're saying they aren't sad to see BSN go.

So the Reapers have won. They finally completely infiltrated and indoctrinated BioWare.
Time to go and freeze ourselves somewhere like the Protheans did.

Given some replies to this and to them in the past on the forums, can hardly blame them. I disagree with the Forums closing, but will not miss the trolls.

I'd say I felt the same when both of them left BW, but that's not true. I was elated to see them go. David Gaider is the worst thing to happen to writing since the burning of the Library of Alexandria and OJ Simpson has more business as a marriage councilor than Chris Priestly has with a public relations job.
I would agree, but David Gaider was replaced as lead DA writer by Patrick Weekes, who in my opinion is even worse. The future is not bright for BioWare.

I'm not impressed by Patrick Weekes' involvement in DA yet, but I loved his work in ME.

Having been here since around DA2's release, I can say that both of them have always been like that. They weren't embittered by the trolls, their attitudes are probably what made a lot of people troll.
Furthermore, people representing a business are expected to conduct themselves with some degree of maturity. Minimum wage employees at Wal-Mart and McDonald's are held to professionalism standards and they have to put up with all sorts of abuse. They definitely aren't allowed to take out their frustrations on the customer base as a whole. These excuses that they shouldn't be held to the same standards are minimum wage grunts is an asinine excuse.

This.. all the things I'll miss about these forums. MJ, you made me sadder
.
I was looking forward to coming back here to jump on the ME:A hype train later in the year, I do twitter, but here things are contagious. I've made so many friends in this community, through these forums, after ME3 and during DA:I development. This place feels like a massive, messed up family. Basically, Biofaneric expressed my feelings for me with his post and also his video.
There's a lot of history here for a lot of people and it will be heartbreaking to see it binned.

Okay, let's cut on people bashing. I hate the "bye felicia" response but I I equally hate the "butthurt" remarks.
I actually considered including a disclaimer about how I don't like using the term, but yeah. Point taken.

Really appropriate. Even from ex-Bioware staff it sure does show how much they never really cared for fans.

One tweet rustles your jimmies? And then you go on about thicker skin? Come on guys. Take a punch if you throw one.
Spoiler
We're not the ones sh**ting on the people who pay our bills. Or, used to pay our bills, in Gaider's case (not that anyone has bought his garbage at Beamdog, so I can't imagine his bills are being payed anyway).

I get this but at the end of the day they write games, not entertain gamers verbally. You either enjoy being able to exchange thoughts with a grumpy dev or not. Then you avoid them. I'm far from saying that lots of things they said were excusable. It's just the level of discourse it creates when you stoop to name calling and mocking...

And then, after Andromeda's release, the devs and writers will realize the players aren't using Twitter or Bioware blog to talk to them. They're actually talking to each other in the fanmade forums and completely ignoring them. Guess why?
Because forums are the only place with an appropriate infrastructure for a group of people to hold a conversation. That's where they'll share their experiences with the games, not on awkward 140 character-long platforms such as Twitter.
They'll feel ignored. Just watch.

I guess Bioware should have thought of that before they called us names and mocked us. I can think of at least 4 consecutive years of them doing that, from 2012 to 2016.

Yeah, as much as I dislike their dismissive responses, its not like they are responsible for the forums closing. I still like and respect them and their work despite the snark. I cut them a lot of slack due to the vitriol they've endured over the years.
And, Weekes gave us Solas! ❤️

This is like coming back from vacation and finding an eviction notice stapled to your door.
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what this feels like (but, you know, not quite as much "where will I live???" panic). Your analogy is pretty spot on. I've never seen a successful, thriving forum closed down while it still had an extremely active user base before. It's like having a full bar at 11PM and the house turning off the lights and taking everyone's drinks from their hands and kicking them all out because a few people threw up in the bathrooms. Doesn't make any logical sense.
