Meh. Personally I don't see the point of post bombing other game sites, but what's left to enjoy? Seeing Bioware/EA treat their community like a vestigial limb -- and this isn't something that began with shutting down this forum, by the way -- leaves me with no desire to continue playing their games or purchasing future games, so there's not much more discussion to be had.

I've never had a goldfish, and I couldn't be arsed bombing another site. I'm also pushing 50 and am from a culture where adult behaviour actively includes and indeed venerates swearing as an art form, unlike the infantile rules here. Feckin puritanical Americans, man, they need to L2Cuss. I've censored myself many times and never become embroiled in much in the way of drama, but DragonRacer's ban is so truly repulsive to me that I've reached the stage where I say f u c k respectability, I won't be joining in any choruses of Kumbaya anytime soon.

Shame, this is one of the worst business decisions I've seen, without BSN I don't think the BioWare today has much left to compete with other RPG devs. Since years ago I buy Bioware games so I can b**ch about them on the forums, now no reason for that any more.  Well done Biovar.

Completely understandable, I am still unhappy about that decision as well.

 

However, during my exile, I saw many people angry at BioWare about my... inability to be here for a while... and I just wanted to be clear that they are cool. I mean, it's the weekend and I was resurrected. That could've waited to Monday or not happened at all. I'll just say that people's anger over what happened was reflected in kind by those who gave me the breath of life again.

I'm glad to see they rectified it quickly!

 

For the record, I still hold BioWare responsible for the actions of their employees, whether by direct contract or through sub-contracting. The numbered moderator accounts function according to the directives they receive, or don't receive, from their employers - BioWare. Most of the problems that I see occur are a direct result of that.

 

They represent BioWare to the community, and their conduct towards the community is a consequence of 3 years of decision-making to allow them to function as they currently do. As futile as it is, perhaps, to be concerned with their conduct at this stage, I still look at BioWare and say, "You let untrained, unqualified agents loose upon your community, and turned a blind eye as they wreaked havoc upon that community repeatedly."

 

At the moment, I don't see reversing a terrible act so much as "kind," as I do "the bare minimum."

 

But, I acknowledge that I'm also still rather pissed about it, so perhaps I'll be a little more grateful later. With booze. Maybe.
