I haven't the words to express how stupid this move is and how i hate to hear that. I didn't post too much on these forums, but i visited them often, and the contents the community produced was really worth.
I didn't like some of the things EA/Bioware did in the past, but this? This is really a ****** on Bioware customers, since keeping these forum wouldn't have required high costs. And who knows what other pleasant surprises the future may reserve us! What's next, ME3 servers going down, despite the game is still played a lot??
I hope your customers "will return the favor" for this behavior in the future: i'll surely be one of them.

... even if you guys did go and start behaving badly... it wont gain anything... nothing will change... so if the result of behaving badly and behaving well is the same... you should behave well.
Youll have to decide what you want to remember this place for... to me... if the world was ACTUALLY ending... I wouldnt spend it breaking things and upsetting people... id spend it with the people I care about, talking about the good times and remembering the important things.
I want my last impression of this place to... be one of community and rememberance... if you want yours to be different... thats fine... but dont let it affect anyone else... do it in private... if people want to do the same as me and talk to people as friends then its WRONG and selfish to ruin it for them
This place has brought me lots of happiness, and I want to remember it as a happy place... by behaving badly... you wont accomplish anything... youll only give yourself a bad taste in your mouth... and youll remember that the last thing you did as a member of this community was an act of hate and anger... the very last thing you will have done is negative, and will only make yourself look bad in the eyes of Bioware and the eyes of some other people here...

You guys are lovely... doing things like this ISNT you... you shouldnt let this change who you are... youll be going out as a BAD member of this community... part of the problem and not part of the solution... youll be going out in a way that makes you seem like a person youre not and that isnt a good thing... just remember that this will be here until October... people will still be able to read it and you need to decide what type of person you appear as in the eyes of others... youll be judged not by the person you are underneath but what you act like to other people... theyll only know what they read

Just as an FYI to everyone.
The early Like allocation was 50, I previously thought it was 20 but was corrected back in the Like Bank Group.
We don't actually have "Unlimited" likes, one of the devs in the "Concerning the Forums" topic mentioned that he raised the amount to 1000. Given those likes probably reset in the same manner as the old ones it's going to be veeeeeery hard to use them all up though.

I think the community that has grown here on forum.bioware.com is going to be fractured in a dozen different ways as people switch to several different forums. Even old grudges emerging over who is creating these new forums, who is moderating, and so on. Many people have a Steam account, and Steam is as good a forum host as any (I'd argue better, in many ways).
I don't think it's wise to hang on too hard to the old community (though there are many posts - especially technical and tips - that need to be preserved). What we as users had here is over. Time to move on and find something else. I'm hoping All Things BioWare will be that "else." If not, well, I'll be happy we tried.
This is a true travesty. In times like these, we must be our own support center. Turn towards yourselves first before reaching out elsewhere.
Understand yourself thoroughly and let all those emotions come bursting out of you until you're fully consoled.
