sorry to hear it Selene. i am forum user, i prefer to not use a social media for games. just for updates on stuff. they just should not be used.

here are alternatives that forum users can use. we could use the new forum for us bioware users
such as this:http://masseffect3.proboards.com/ which was created after the legacy BSN were being shut down.

http://biowarefans.boards.net/ also created after the Off Topic section was closed. it might also serve as home for us.

Yeah, I tried to join the forum, masseffect3 proboard, but it tried to trick me into installing malware: I have been a computer technician for over 30 years and know what I am looking at. PDF to doc is malware.

oh dear. it's possible that it was unregistered malware left by someone on the register button. did you try the bioware fans and see if you have same thing?

It's your forum, isn't it CS? Left by whom?

But I would give the benefit of the doubt and suggest it could be proboards' flaky ads that have been reported in the past to do shenanigans like that.

yeah it happened a couple of years ago. i thought it was fixed. apparently not. i'll ask them to check and confirm it.

i hadn't touched that forum for years since 2013. been busy with other forums and college.

That is what I suspect

Maybe I'll try in another day or two... Give them time to clean up their boards.

The threads I'll miss is the Combat and Strategy forums. There's some good informations in those forums that'll be lost if it all can't be documented and carried over in some form.

They're not going to change their mind.

What we need to do now is figure out where we're going to rebuild.

biowarefans would be good place but it has malware ad issues at the moment. we have to wait for PB to purge the servers of that.

I'd bet you'll get it and every last bit of DLC and loads of microtransactions.

Except I haven't bought a game in many moons, I'm still cross regarding Mass 3, I'm even more cross after this, and my XBL membership expires in less than a month without renewal unless a friend does me a solid and renews for me as I've got to spend what money I have on more important stuff like getting my dad back home from out of the country.

So Andromeda is a stretch.

Be been posting this around but would like to post here too

I would like to offer to host forums as I host the inquisition wiki

We have a large server capable of handling very heavy traffic, and we have a safe domain, you won't get malware or any sort of issues as we run daily scans and already have high traffic.

I can offer bug tested reliable moderating tools and positions for users.

Our current board is undergoing a redesign, and will be looking much more modern in about two weeks. I'll leave the link so you can get an idea, I'll organise things however you guys would prefer and collaborate to keep an active and attentive moderating team so we can have the discussions we all want

I've been waffling for a while, but I think I've decided that I'm not a fan of Bioware anymore. All sorts of positive things still, yes, but not a fan.

Ironically, this is at a time I'm playing their games the most (playthroughs of ME trilogy for myself and with my friend, just subbed to SWTOR, got DAI GOTY on sale and going through that, anticipating but not hyped up about MEA, interested in but not anticipating NewIP).

If they're done with the forums... fine. It may be a part of a sequence of things meaning that I'll just potentially 'move away' from Bioware in my 20s just as I moved away from JRPGs in my 10s. I don't need to be their customer - I still might be, or I might not. DAI helped things a little more than it hurt, so there's that, and I'll see about MEA. But no forums certainly does mean less engagement from me and less sustained interest in their titles. I mostly don't care about Twitter, I use my Facebook for more personal interactions (as IF developers would open themselves up on that!), Tumblr weirds me out, and I'm always iffy about Reddit.

We used to, back when there were devs to talk to.

The community has changed quite a bit since then if now it seems so unthinkable.

I didn't say it was unthinkable. It's just not something I ever cared about. I'm here for my fellow fans, not to chat up the devs. The latter was just a nice bonus.

Registered.

Though, I should point out that while the registration page claims it allows spaces in the username, it wouldn't let me do that.
