Yeah, there's quite a few of them. I'm with Gomez, gonna watch Fextralife right now.
Yeah i like that one too. It's going to come down to which of them gets the critical mass of users.

Well, this is kind of sad (even if I'm not as active on here as I used to be). I did register up though for the new thing. Any word on why they are closing the site down by the way?
Details in the announcement thread.
You should join my alternate forum.
Also, have you already been alerted to TSG? It's annoying sometimes, but the mods are nice guys. If you're looking for a different place to gently rib the more aggressive variety of TW3 fans, it's a good secondary option.
I'm certain that I will.
As for TSG (assuming that's Top Shelf Gaming?), I'd never actually heard of it until Friday, when some folks were throwing it around as an alternative. I'll certainly check it out, and likely migrate to wherever you guys wind up.
I don't think I like needling Witcher fans anymore, though. Partly because TW3 (somewhat, a little bit) converted me to one, but mostly because with the more fervent ones, it's like hitting your head against a wall. They occupy a different reality.
And now, to catch up on the 4 pages that happened in this discussion since I saved that draft on Friday...
This is what I'm afraid of.
You have to adjust to the culture of a new forum, and so many places out there are hostile to 1) BSNers in general, and 2) people who aren't douchebros. BSN was like a happy medium. Occasionally it got sticky and gross, but for most of its history it's been a relatively welcoming environment - and no, I haven't forgotten ME3's endings or the post-DA2 meltdown. You can't find that everywhere.
Even if other gaming forums weren't hostile to DA/ME fans and everything Bioware creates (and they often are)... it's going to be difficult to find a place that's not inundated with a bunch of other games that I don't care about. /whinging
I'm holding out hope for Fexelea's place and maybe the Real Dragon Age Fans forums, but I don't know. I'm just so disappointed. If the company doesn't tank and DA4's still in the works, but I'm going to be sooooo excited to come talk about it and then I'll remember that I can't.
This is a little bit where I'm falling. The BSN is the only forum I post in, and I only ever really participate in one at a time (before the BSN, I posted on the WoW forums a lot back when I still played).
There are a lot of posters here who infuriate me, but not an unmanageable amount, and the fact that the discussion has a relatively narrow focus has historically kept it a pretty productive place.
Conversely, whenever I delve into other general gaming forums or comment threads, I just end up sad and appalled, surrounded by people like Deathjester. I've been gaming for the past 27 years of my life, and the conduct of most gamers (or at least, the overall climate in gamercentric places) disgusts me, and I don't really have the energy to argue with it anymore. I'd rather just ignore it.
the question for many of us now, is not what we do with the time that is left, but how much sh*t we can post on the last day.
If these forums are to be deleted I don't see any purpose in remaining unbanned.
There's something to be said for this.
Nat activity detected.
Hell, I'm still a bit hopeful that they wlll bring back the forums in a year or two as a fresh start. I don't expect jack at this point though.

What about DQ? I thought you might be making a space specifically for that.
Of course I'd be happy to have you guys migrate to the RDF, but I know you might want a place with more widespread DA talk.
If this happens, I hope you all will return as well.
To be honest, I'm not sure how many people would move back in that case. Many, who will not have any bad feelings regarding BSN's fate by that point, will be wary of returning, because there's a precedent for just dumping all of the content in the trash. Why build it up again, just to have the situation repeat. And it will repeat - BSN needed to downsize, but mostly they desperately required better moderation. If they fail to do that, BSN 3.0 will die too. Official or not, a venue run and moderated by the users is, after this decision, far more dependable than the official one, and it's weird that I can say that.
Seeing as our new group is coming along nicely, I'm not sure how to feel about BSN. I'm not sure we're going to get another such diverse and dedicated place to specifically discuss BW games, but on the other hand - we have 2 venting threads that are mainly about the public boards, and many people avoided certain parts, or took breaks, because of how negative and exhausting this place could be.
We've had our own forum set up since the thread was accidentally closed in February so most of us will retreat there once the door closes. I'll be moving some content from the thread and most of the content from the group (art and writing, mostly) there over the next few weeks. I will let them know we are welcome to join RDF. If anyone here is interested in joining our forums let me know and I can PM you a link.
So is Fextralife becoming the new discussion hub of choice around here?
That's the one I'm going with. The admin seems to know what (she?)'s doing and the site itself is already pretty well-known, particularly among the Dark Souls fandom.
There are also apparently plans to migrate the entire BSN archive over and if they can pull that off, I could see that becoming the de facto replacement for people searching for a Bioware forum.
Hell, it's already the fourth result that comes up when I Google "mass effect andromeda forum bioware" and it hasn't even been populated yet.
I'm hoping for Cyonan's replacement forum to pull through honestly
^same, but still gonna keep on eye on the other one.
someone posted BioWare's glass ceiling ratings, and its...not good.
Seems to confirm some of the long held assumptions by some fans

Eh?
Eh?
That is what happens to studios under EA, unfornately. Westwood is gone, Maxis is barely what it was, and in no time Bioware will be gone or stripped down so much its not Bioware anymore. I don't prefer to be all doom and gloom, but with the closing of the forums it confirms some suspicion.

Big corporates buying small one's never ends up well.
I'm not going to be able to come here even in the final month if the forum is going to be filled with stuff like that. I really don't want to think of my favorite gaming studio being dissolved, especially when Dragon Age has an unresolved storyline. I'm trying to be optimistic and think that some fans are blowing little clues out of proportion and such, but it's just starting to pile on in my mind. It's so f*cking depressing.
I'm going to go level pets in World of Warcraft, hopefully finish my Legendary Ring quest before the expansion drops, maybe read and write some fanfic, and try not to think about any of this.

I understand, and that is why i shouldn't spread doom and gloom. Dragon Age is my favourite gaming franchise ever, and i want it to continue.
Off-Topic - How far along are you on the ring quest? I got all 33 Tomes in 3 weeks on my Hunter, droprate is really high now.
