It's a little embarrassing to admit, but same. Since the Andromeda forum my ratio has been increasingly tilting more and more toward likes, and I was curious to see if I could get my likes to double my posts.

Gah, same here. I've got a lot less posts than you guys, but it was still nice to see the likes overtake the number of posts. I've even found an option to make a like counter in our group (in the profile summary)

For some reason I can't imagine you clashing with anybody. Maybe having a heated discussion at most. But not clashing.

One particular poster and I clashed to the point of nearly breaking the TOS. Not in our group, but in the new BSN. That was literally 2 years ago whent that happened, so it's old news. I'm happy to let it slide.

Oh, nice. It's gonna be the official fall equinox this year. Not on the 21st or the 23rd.

I registered for the bsn.boards.net. I'll check out the other more popular one, related to the wiki, later on. I'll stick with these, I suppose.

I don't care about losing likes that much, since they are something that's only seen if you visit profiles instead of being below post count. It's just something I don't pay attention to here.

 

In terms of users you don't get along, I got quite many and it does limit my choices of new forums a bit ^^; None in RDF I think, but pretty much in all other forums.

I'd like to let you all know that I have successfully created a database with all Mass Effect Andromeda topics, posts, users, posted time. I must now convert this to phpbb. Once that is done, we have green light to import everything and everyone can keep their posts, their history, and have an active board to continue discussions.
 
I also did a smaller run on a small subforum as a proof of concept - I will convert this first, and will be back with a screenshot of the results

I'm enjoying my time at bsn.boards so far. There are a few people I really don't care to see over there but lots of friendly faces (and a few big names, too). Off-topic section is fun. Lady A created a monster when she made that Would You Rather? thread.

Still poking my toes in everywhere to get a feel for the water. >___>

You have to divide by likes given though to adjust for positive inflation.

I'll be signing up for some of the new forums when I get more time to check them out. None of the major places are suitable to me. Both Reddit and Tumblr are more useful for checking out fanart, not discussions. And I don't use Facebook/Twitter.

 

I must admit, I was shocked and depressed when I logged on today and saw the news. I'm much more of a lurker than poster, but this place is where I've always been most active. There are so many lovely and interesting people here, even amidst the negativity, and I've enjoyed reading discussions. I've even made friends here, which is particularly important since I don't know anyone else who cares about games' stories/characters irl (let alone Bioware games). I really hope some alternative becomes popular enough to replace this place, even if we lose what material was here. I don't want the entire community to just disappear.

 

It's strange to think that somewhere I've frequented for several years will just be gone, completely.

Beyond that, there's our little group, and we're actually quite active there

Wow, transferring the entire forum sounds like a tremendous undertaking! I really hope they're able to. As other people have mentioned, there's so much information on these forums that would be lost otherwise.
