They wont listen to trolls... no one should... if you guys are acting badly and causing problems and swearing and being mean... why should they listen to you??? what reason do they have??? that wont make them change their mind and that wont give them a reason to maybe open the forum again at some point in the future... they need to see the community as something worth keeping... if people act badly the community will look bad and they wont want to support a bad community...
... if someone started shouting and screaming at me... I wouldnt want to listen to them... but if someone said in a calm and sensible tone why I shouldnt do something id be a lot more likely to listen to them... you never want to part from anyone with bad thoughts about each other... this forum is a GOOD thing... this community is a GOOD thing...
... you guys are better than this... I know you are... its a sad time and I mean I started actually crying when I found out and ive only been here a few months so I have no idea how you guys must be feeling... but anger... it isnt the answer... anger and violence and cruelty never solve anything but make the problems worse... and they said the Knights of the Old Republic forums would be open... youll be ruining the forum for other people... other people like you who want to get advice and talk with people about a computer game they love... its just a different computer game to mass effect... I just... dont think you guys should do this...
I hear ya. But I don't think we have any effect on this. A bad community? Come on, I'm pretty sure this is what a healthy community looks like: some bickering, arguing, but in the end, most of us found the common ground.
I wouldn't compare a person to a company. Of course I wouldn't want to listen to those that shout and scream at me... no one does. But, it is the sad reality of the internet that the most angry and the stupidest are the loudest and are the first to complain.
I don't want to ruin others' fun, and I don't care about the TOR forums, so I won't even visit that place. It feels like I would need a passport there anyway, it's so foreign. But as far as the Mass Effect forums go, I feel that "breaking the law" once wouldn't really have an effect on anything.
I dont believe that
I see a beautiful community full of lovely people of all nationalities and genders and backgrounds all coming together to talk about computer games all made by the same people... I mean... maybe thats just because im new but...
Absolutely agreed. We have a great community here, that is why I'm disappointed to see it nuked by a most likely irreversible decision probably made by a random pencil pusher.
