Hey all!
I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or what, but I'm asking for help. I would like to go as far as possible in the Mage but without actually choosing them over the Templars. I've heard that somehow you can choose the Templars and "conscript" the mages, but I don't get how exactly this works. Is there a conversation where you "conscript" the mages? What do I have to do to make this happen?
Thank you!!
Conscripting the Mages?

You can go to Redcliffe and talk to Fiona, but then you have to make a choice. Either mages or templars. You can't have both.
Once you chose either path, at the end you can conscript the mages/templars (so they're prisoners essentially) or take them as allies, leaving their organisations in tact. ![]()

You can't have both. If you choose the mages, then you can conscript them or have them as free allies.
You make your decision at the war table. So you can go to redcliffe, meet Fiona, meet Dorian in the chantry and still choose the templars.

Ok, thank you
On that note, do you have a recommendation? I have played the Templar side, and I've heard some say definitely do the Mages, others say it's really not very different.

It is very different, worth playing for sure. Tho I think the templar quest is better.
