One last "help me choose a romance" thread for old-times sake:

I was hoping you guys would help me out. I’m doing my current “canon” play through of Dragon Age Inquisition and find myself romantically conflicted. Female Cadash, not a self insert. She is very, very ashamed of her past and to the Inquisition as a new start, grabbing the Herald thing with both hands. She’s gone out of her way to be nonviolent and forgiving because she’s seen what the grind of violence is like. So now I have two choices: Josephine or Blackwall. And yes, I’ve played the game a bunch, and know Blackwall’s story.
Josephine is who I would pick if I were writing this as an original story. The princess, everything Cadash has always wanted but has always been out of reach. And her surname is Cadash–scion of a once proud house now fallen from grace, just like Josie. So she isn’t going to be scornful of Josie’s economic difficulty the way Lavellan or Adaar would. And there’s something to be said for the criminal getting to play the knight in shining armor who literally duels for he lady’s heart. Josie was horrified by her past, but I can use that as a character moment. The problem: I don’t think the romance as actually executed in the game is very good. I almost never like the “sweet” romance and Josie feels very thin, since she spends most of the romance oblivious and you get the last romance cutscene so early. It’s not bad, by any means; just one of those things I really want to take a red pen to.

Okay, so that leaves Blackwall. I never actually finished Blackwall, but Cadash is really in step with him. Which is not surprising because they have very similar backgrounds and motivations. The idea of the two of them going on to be Thedosian social workers paying it forward has its charms. But… I always  end up feeling like a schmuck when I have tried to past. Not so much because of the murder, but because he’s a really lousy boyfriend. I’m also not really sure that “former criminal reaches out to criminal associates to save boyfriend” is really how I want this story to go.
Thoughts?

Just curious. Have you ever completed Trespasser with Blackwall as a GW? If so you know how it ends for him right?

Haven't done it personally, but yeah, I know.

Then if you want to go for a happy and full romance with Blackwall make sure you don't make him one lol boy did I learn THAT at a time when my Lavellen was still reeling from Solas LOL

I recommend Blackwall because you never got through it but I found it really wonderful and satisfying if you complete his romance. I felt it was worth accepting his lies and trying again.

I am always going to suggest Blackwall.  ALWAYS:wub:

Oh, I guess I should have elaborated beyond the he's so smexy thing.  I love that you can redeem him.  Show him forgiveness.  See his growth.  The fact that your dwarf is a criminal and gets to do these things also causes growth for her as well.  At least that's how I see it.

He pays forward the love and kindness he is shown and you get to revel in the beard.

THE END!

Well I guess that depends on which way you want to flip more?

- Being a KISA, with Josephine at your side and finally gets your happily ever after (she has a good and awsome family! Who doesnt want in laws like that :D )
- Together with the Wall, with some rough edges to deal with, both of you leaving the darker past behind and working together for a better future.

I LOVE Blackwall and Cadash together and, from what you said about your character, I think it'd allow for A LOT of character growth on both ends.

I've never been a fan of Josephine's romance, and it seems you're not either. It also seems to much of a fairy tale IMHO, especially when compared to Cadash's dark background.
