This is why so many people don't believe you when you say you want them to be happy. 

 

I wanted this place shut down because they killed or at least injured something I loved... or at least had strong affection for.... 

 

Look, I've watched interviews with the current gang and Aaron Flynn, etc, they still have a ton of really cool people who are clearly capable of providing great experiences... but there's no question that all the abuse Bioware got was basically for no reason, and that it changed the company in ways that I just thought sucked. 

 

Whatever happened to, if you don't like it, don't buy it? Simple stuff like that?

 

Does that affect lots of really great Bioware fans who attach to this place? Who have found each other, and learned a lot from each other? Of course it does. When I wrote that moderator I was factoring in a lot of things like that... I wasn't just like "screw these people" I was like... just kind of going on instinct, things like this are kind of invariably messy. 

 

I think overall people will be happier, I think some fans were a bit stuck here not because they hated "tumblrina" but because of closeting and other issues like that and we're just resisting being a part of that. I think some fans had legitimate criticisms. 

 

On the whole though, to spend so much time and energy and life creating as I say such beautiful things and to get nothing but blasted with criticism? It just never seemed right to me, there are so many things worth criticizing in this world, Bioware is very far down to possibly absolute last on that list.

It would be easier to just kind of run and hide on some other forum or media, but I thought if fans were kind of here and actively showing their support and sort of "confronting the bullies" to a degree, well that would put pressure on them to rectify the situation in some capacity or another.

Did you see my Best ME characters or best MEA lines or whatever? It gets drowned out within a day, invariably. 

 

Any topic that was positive was dispensed in order to hurry to negativity, nothing but negativity, all the freaking time. 

 

As I stated in TW3 thread, another thing that irked me was it wasn't reciprocal. Nerds for whatever reason don't get to criticize "the man" or "the woman" but the reverse is true?

 

It makes no sense. I don't get to slam the crap out of all kinds of people who deserve it, so the reverse shouldn't be true.

Lol did you miss the part about simply liking Bioware games? My first Bio game was BG way back when... back when literally all that happened with a new game was just a bit of news and an announcement and some random website and an interview, no rabid insane fanbase. 

 

By 2012, this kind of toxic monster had just sort of become this huge massive destructive thing.

 

It's funny, I would not have really cared if they hadn't just disassembled the **** company in the process of all their whining. If it had just been whining then that would of been annoying but not as bad as just kind of actually affecting the day to day operations of the company. 

 

The simple fact is that closing the forum is great but true justice would mean one of those perpetual whiner's personal company, employer, livelihood, etc, being disassembled and thrown into a trash can.
