Ok first... unless you have dirt on someone high up in BW or shares in the company I honestly doubt you were the reason the site is being shut down... it will have been a marketing/development decision (short sighted in my opinion but they are the ones stumping up the cost so....)
Second... I've been to plenty of forums some for very very short visits because of the level of **** posting, bullying out of hand trolling and often really nasty **** being said about individuals or sections of our society and although there were a fair number or trolls on here, sorry guys but you know who you are, and some heated arguments and the terms 'sjw' were thrown around probably a bit more than was warrented in some threads these forums are a cake walk in comparrision...
As for the discussions on here destroying something you love? that you posted in a later? (sorry if i misquoted) well my connection to Mass Effect and feeling about it could never be dented by anything anyone on this forum said but then I guess I'm quite good at not reading or engaging with the threads that I'm not enjoying having a chat or a bit of banter in...
So I guess my TL:DR comment was that I've always been casual visitor here but I don't recognise your description of it being nothing but toxicity, it was also home to a group of people who truly love the ME universe and who were killing time until the next installment... that was my experience anyway
This place hasn't been toxic in that sense for a long time.
It has nothing to do with toxicity.
