Well, I'm on the fence with MEA now since they have such little faith in it that it will likely burn this forum down to the ground.
I'll wait till the reviews on MEA, then based on them I'll wait till a sale or get it sooner... or later....or never.

i'll admit, i'm getting nervous about me:a with all the surrounding things going on for bioware, but i'm hoping thinking that the forums being taken down have nothing to do with it. and it's just a coincidence. ![]()

It makes you wonder if there not wanting to be put on blast when it tanks lol.
This really does hurt, though.. I've been on these forums for awhile now.
it's one of my favorite places to chat even if it is only about specific things. Gonna miss this place.
This has nothing to do with MEA, they're going to announce that Dragon Age licence is over next month ![]()
Yet those ass hat mods have no problem throwing out points left and right.
BAHAHAHAHAHA keep your words short n sweet until a couple days before closure. Then you can make a REALLY BIG stink.
Nothing inspires fans to buy the new game like closing down their community. Where they like to talk about said game before it's even been released.
I really... just don't know anymore... I was eager to play, and now?
What am I supposed to think about any and all of this now?
'In order to communicate more with fans and engage in discussion, we're closing down our forum that's dedicated to communicating with fans and engaging in discussion.'
You know something is off when Starbrat logic gets involved. Not to mention this seems timed to happen just as they start rolling out actual info for ME:A.
None of this sits right.
I hear you all...incredibly frustrated. They continually make the exact wrong decisions despite me really wanting Bioware to flourish. And now I find out Ash aka Lady Insanity will no longer do Bioware content...who has long been a favorite of mine for news and lore on DA and ME games. She says it's more for personal reasons, and maybe that's the full truth, but I cannot help but wonder at the timing. Dark days my friends.

Full bragging rights to the guy who makes an Asari penetration post and brings back waifu wars in one thread.
To mayhem!

haha, I wish I could like your post 1 million time.
Shutting down the community before the release of MEA. I don't know who suggested this amazing commercial strategy but they should fire him right now !
Well, when was the last time someone from BioWare actually came to the forums?
Outside of the message earlier about the closure?
I want to share a fact with you...
Inside Bioware headquarters now:
It's been forsaken for months!
Image EA standing above Bioware, laughing manically as the forums are destroyed....
I hear you all...incredibly frustrated. They continually make the exact wrong decisions despite me really wanting Bioware to flourish. And now I find out Ash aka Lady Insanity will no longer do Bioware content...who has long been a favorite of mine for news and lore on DA and ME games. She used to be THE biggest fan too. Loved her videos. And SHE'S burned out. I mean, she has SO much Bioware content that she has done...and now? Wow. Boards are going down, people have stopped caring...and some have. I mean, there ARE those that are still incredibly passionate about the games, yet we've reached a point where fatigue has set in. Give you an example...
Remember Final Fantasy XIII Versus? BEFORE the name change...back on the PS3? WHICH...NEVER appeared, right? And FFXIII itself...I never finished FFXIII. It dragged on, and on...felt...pointless. It was a slog. So, I finally put the game away, moved on to other things. Versus? Oh, it IS coming out now...don't care though. Feels like it'd be reaching back, when I want to move forward. FF7 Remake? Wow...awesome...or...wait, its not coming out soon, is it? It'll be 2020 or later, knowing SquareEnix. Too much time has passed...
And here we are with Andromeda. We know...almost nothing. Now, in a way, that's good. I don't want the ending spoiled. ME3 had that...well, can of worms, right? So, I can understand some trepidation at releasing information. However...all we really hear is the negative. People leaving the company...delay...delay...and...a lot of silence. They gave a few scraps...and...it was nice. I really want to love this game. I loved ME...even 3 still is one of my favorite games. I DIDN'T freak out about the ending (understand I was completely and UTTERLY convinced it was going to be an utterly downer game that anything where even ONE of my companions lived was a plus for me...and I NEVER expected Shep to walk out...I expected an all for nothing ending...so, I was good). So, post DAI, here we sit...waiting...anticipating...hungry for SOMETHING about something we are passionate about...
...
...and the silence becomes deafening. The boards implode, crushed by the vacuum, scattering those that remain into the far corners of the web...GameSpot...Gamefaqs...Reddit...Twitter...IGN *shudders*...fracturing communities of individuals who love these games perhaps too much. Sometimes passion can make us angry, frustrated...or bitter. Yet, we come here because we CARE about this product. A place that will cease, only to reside in personal archives and memories. Even those of us who disagree, whether we respect them or not, will be missed. Our banter, our theories gone forever. Whatever exchanges we might have had, or shared will have to be started anew, in unfamiliar environs. Vitriol and energy will be lost, as the halls that once housed this...zeal for these games will stand no longer.
Do I think MEA will be a disaster? The game? NO...I think it will be a great product. Yet, the community that holds it up, will not be there to celebrate it. Not in this form. Whereas there are posters here who are willing to construct arguments of ruth and vehemence; who wish to indulge and elucidate...how will 140 characters properly allow for such dialogue? So yes, I think MEA will be good...but...I think the heart of the community has been crushed. No matter if it is indifference, callous or regretful, a choice has been made. Something...unique extinguished. A community undone.
“Falling into ruin was a bit like falling in love: Both descents stripped you bare and left you as you were at your core. And both endings are equally painful.”
Does that really matter though?Well, when was the last time someone from BioWare actually came to the forums?

Does that really matter though?
This place is where the fans gather and discuss with each other. Many don't even care if the devs are here or not. By shutting this whole site down they're just severing the artery of the community. And not just for here, but many other places too.
This is OUR community. Where we talk to each other. That is what we're losing.
No it doesn't,
but at the same time it was never our community. We never owned this in the end. We just happened to be here.
Thats the sad reality of the situation now at least.

Yeah... And that they don't yet seem to understand/care that we still live and breathe here is making it even worse.
Dont seem to is a fair feeling.
The reality of it though I bet is much more complex. I highly doubt that this was a mutual decision on BioWares part.
Yeah... And that they don't yet seem to understand/care that we still live and breathe here is making it even worse.
I think they don't care about our current position here ![]()
