DAMN that is so freaking SAVAGE!!!!
Not savage, just the truth.
Well to be fair... No one puts out finished games anymore. What with all these day one updates and DLC that's really just cut content. Obsidian ia like everyone else now.
That's not fairness, that's spin. Obsidian hasn't put out a complete game in well over a decade.
Speaking of which, Pillars of Eternity wasn't finished? I haven't had a chance to play it. New Vegas? Didn't get to play that either.
Nope. I love New Vegas but it was incomplete and as buggy as any game I've ever played, including betas.
No, I'm not ignorant, I used to be. Trust me, I keep up with politics FAR more than you. I used to think like this, I know where you're coming from. Trump could use a bit more tact, that's for sure, but try reading past the headlines and not taking in biased propaganda from either side.
"Mexican's are rapists" isn't the quote. the quote is “When Mexico (meaning the Mexican Government) sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you (pointing to the audience). They’re not sending you (pointing again). They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people!"
If you have a brain you can tell he's talking about iilegal immigrants, drug smuggleres etc. Not 2nd generation immigrants etc. Illegal immigration is a problem, it's not racist to say that.
"All Muslims are terrorists". Literally never said this, you must be thinking of a YouTube comment, or twisting words to push your agenda. Just a clear sign of losing the debate when you have to make stuff up. I'm not getting into the 'religion of peace' but all he proposed was a temporary ban on Muslim immigration. The entire time he's talked about terrorism he's not talking about cultural muslims, or moderates or reformers, he's talking about radical muslims. You know, like ISIS? Last time I checked they're not very nice. I'm sorry was that racist even though a religion can't be a race?
"I think women working is dangerous to society." I can't find this quote anywhere, link or didn't happen.
Can I still get banned with only a month to go on these forums? We'll see folks!

Honestly a bit worried that the original open question is a reason for closure.

Them not coming here is not the problem, it is, so, SO much a symptom.I'd like to invoke Occam's Razor here. They're not closing these boards because of any backlash to fan reaction to things (like ME3 ending), or out of any fear about their product's success, or any other weird conspiracy theories. They're doing it for the plain and simple reason that was stated in their closure thread.
BioWare employees just don't come here anymore.
They don't employ any full time forum Moderators, so it falls on the Devs who spend free time here. And guess what? They just don't feel like doing it anymore. If they don't spend time here, there is no moderation. No moderation means that these threads eventually descend into unregulated madness, and whatever your opinion about their state up till now, please know if can get so... SO much worse.
Sure, they could do like some other communities do and promote some of the best forum members to be volunteer moderation staff, but no matter what that's still going to require some Dev oversight. You'll need people to "moderate" the moderators, so to speak, make sure they don't abuse their power, and of course handle any complaints that regular users may have about the moderation. Bottom line is... still requires them to come here. Which they don't want to do.
The problem is why they don't want to come here.
Now apply Mssr Occam's reasoning as to why they don't want to come here.
My guess, in simple terms, is it is tiresome to have one's mistakes pointed out and harped on. All the time.
But then, that could be considered contributory and not the base problem, which is a bad, flawed product.
A product that causes lots of discontent, in turn causing the forums to be not a pleasant place for those responsible.
The demise of BSN - yet another casualty of the craptastic ME3 endings.

Man..the game must be ****ing awful if they are afraid of their own forums so much. Well another nail in the coffin i guess. The only good thing about this is that they will fire all those mods.
Those BioBots definitely have it coming.

The third act feels a bit rushed compared to the first and second in Pillars, but it was definitely finished.
Personally, I think they shot themselves in the foot by promising 2 different cities and a 15 levels deep dungeon as a stretch goal and it effectively hamstrung the pacing a bit.
Aside from that, looking forward to Tyranny, much because of the kind of publisher Paradox Interactive is.

Almost certainly not. A board like this would only cost real money if they had a lot of professional, engaged monitors. They don't.

Jesus, here we go again...
Every rational thinking person knows exactly, that closing the forums is not a decision from BioWare, but from EA. Think about it.
They (BioWare/EA) can talk about Mass Effect on twitter, reddit or whatever media platform, where people are more likely to get a grab of this new game called "Mass Effect".
If they'd spread news here... the only people that would get the news, are the ones, that are already informed about Mass Effect -> no new customers.
This platform is excusively for people to talk about the games themselves, which you can do on other media platforms as well and get new people into the boat.
And that they don't care about this forum, is not known since yesterday.
They could have closed the forums in 2012, 2013, 2014 - it doesn't matter. The only thing that strikes me is this "religious like" bullcrap, that people are interpreting into this forum apocalypse. Do you really have to look so desperately into this, that you assume everything and the world is going down the toilet now? Do you seriously believe Andromeda is gonna suck, because they decided to bury something, that has been dead, since it was born?
People, pull up your pants and stop pooping yourselves, breath some fresh air, sit down and enjoy our neighbour galaxy when the time comes...
If you interpret everything into Andromeda failing to deliver, just don't get that game at all, you set your mind to failure and that is a sign of obsession, not a loving and caring one, but a really sick and unhealthy one.
That was my line of reasoning, too...until I watched THIS. ![]()
It features Casey Hudson, the creator of ME, talking about Andromeda's strange delay. Among other similarly important stuff.

However, the solution to getting rid of even some of the negativity is perceived to be improve the moderation of the boards... which involves hiring moderators... which involves spending some money. During a recession (which Alberta is in now), it becomes unlikely that a company will decide to spend more money on something they do not perceive as adding to their bottom line in the short term (that is, management often stops thinking in terms of what adds intangible value to a company - like a sense of "community" amid their fanbase). Even though the current cost of running the boards without adequate moderation is small, the company is still more likely to just rid itself of that small cost than it is to spend more towards improving them.

That's actually just an actor doing a skit, although to be fair a lot of people have made the same mistake. They do play it a bit too straight to make it clear that it's a Micky-take. That channel has a long running series of similar satirical videos of other companies using the same actors. That was my line of reasoning, too...until I watched THIS.

As to how much their predictions may come true... That's anyone's guess.

"Yep, that's the official story, but only an idiot believes the official story."
The truth is most likely that the decision was based on a variety of different factors. It seems unlikely that money played absolutely no role in the decision... since companies always think about their bottom line (and if they don't, they probably don't last long as companies). Does this mean their on the verge of bankruptcy... I doubt it. As I've said though, in tough times, managers are more inclined to think about cutting costs (even minor ones) than they are to consider investing more to "fix" perceived "toxic" problems with something like a fan website. When management is also getting feedback from their staff that tells them their staff don't even want to go to the site themselves, management becomes just more convinced to shut the whole thing down.

There's no pride in this game on display. Previous BioWare titles had a lot of braggadocios dev interaction and a general sense of excitement behind the scenes(just look at all of the cockiness for the previous Mass Effect games and the bi-weekly, pointless teasing of dev meetings for DAI). No one working on MEA has anything to say about it, even cryptically.

But if you had a Choice you'd choose the lesser of two evil which is clearly Clinton. God d@#n rednecks turning this country to mush. The way I see it, both Clinton and Trump are questionable at best.
She, the stereotypical spineless shifty politician with shady connections, he the gormless bull in the china shop.
