Imagine the last 2 days. Pr0nHub will have nothing on BSN.
There will be so much inappropriate stuff posted even Nat would be impressed.
The Shelter private group moved off a couple of years ago. Anybody who wants to be respectful to other users is welcome. Hit up any of the old members for approval, we just ask for a current member to vouch for you. I host it (ad-free), and it's not going anywhere.

Are "troublemakers" like me welcome?
Top Shelf Gaming is another option. We've set up a sticky to help new folks get settled in. There are a couple MPers already there whom you may know, such as Cyonan and Heldarion.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, I couldn't stop myself!
I'd move to a more open platform like reddit's /r/mecoop. They won't tolerate your spam though.

There are a lot of "troublemakers" there, so you should fit right in. ![]()

Anubis is under temp ban right now, so he can't respond ... so he asked for some help.
Yes, "troublemakers" are welcome ... but not abusive jerks.
We "literally" have random threads, plus threads on ME, MEMP and ME:A ... plus lots of other games ... most not EA games.
But all manner of topics are welcome. If you start a topic and it goes nowhere ... well, there you have it. We have a few pinned, but mostly the front page is populated by what is getting everyone's attention.
Most of us are refugees from the ME3MP threads and the original "Shelter" subgroup ... but not all.
It's a lot more open than BSN, but without some of the more aggressive trolling.
Anywhere I go has to be willing to put up with my sarcastic posts and occasional shitposting in between my actual datamining stuff.
Dude ... you know you are always welcome in the Shelter ... should you choose to join.

That settles it. Now how does this "vouching" thing work?

Sweet. I'll give it a shot.
Hardly surprised by the Anubis ban btw.

I sent you a link.
Panther fixed ya up ...
My work here is done ...
I should go.

I'd need an invite for that.
Sadly I think all of these splinter forums will ultimately not recapture what we've got here because they're all lacking something that the BSN has: A constant flow of new blood from fans of BioWare games looking for information about their games.
I'm just not sure how one works around that with a fan made forum.

No there isn't a lot of new people joining, but the people who are there are there pretty much all the time. And since most of them started here I think you'll recognize a lot of them. ![]()
So is there really a viable replacement for ME mechanics and discussion? Could someone point me there.
I really want to preserve the doc and spreadsheet links. Plus many of the original posts by the data miners. Even screenshots would work if an off-host solution is not feasible for forum posts. Some of those are irreplaceable.
I'm going to add them to a game data channel on the Discord server just for the sake of personal archiving. This might be a big job so if anyone wants to be a maintainer join the server and let's talk before it's all gone.

Didn't GameFAQs start out as a fan made forum?
Well, I have heart surgery in a week, so I won't be here for so much after that I assume, unless I get really bored at the hospital or something. But at any rate, people will be able to find me either at that new Cass forum or on ps4 / xbox one, gamertags are in my signature xD

And at least where ME3MP is concerned, take everything they say there, and the exact opposite is the truth.
As to the alternatives, I lurked the reddit and the BSN for months before my first post here, and the reddit is little better than the GameFAQs board for ME3MP, lots of misconceptions, and few "new"/"good" ideas, all in a difficulty to navigate format, can't recommend it to anybody who isn't a long-time redditor.
Twitter? Facebook? I'd rather find a nice, old, hardcover book and introduce it to my face. If either of those are BioWare's idea of a good source of feedback, then I expect ME:A will actually be a Candy Crush re-skin.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, I barely tolerated the BSN, and the alternatives are just worse. The result of this stupid decision by BioWare (have they made any good decisions in recent history?) will be the community breaking up.
Farewell fellow BSNers.
As of now... I am leaning towards cassandra's site. From all the scouting I have done.....that is by far...the closest thing we will have to being here. I know cassandra was kinda weird..but then again...all of us are. I only hope we are allowed to cuss and post gifs / memes there. From what I saw..it might even be possible for us to moderate ourselves...which makes a huge difference in my book. I will be signing up there in the next day or 2. That looks like the perfect place for all of us to migrate to together.
