For me? I already wasn't going to preorder based on various issues, namely the trollstore for myself.

Knowing now what you now, would you have stayed and posted specifically on the ME3MP forum? Or would you go back to your younger self and say, "lets try somewhere else, this isn't going to end well"

Yep. I wasn't intrigued by MEA earlier, either but now even less.

Also, in a weird sense perhaps, it's been interesting to see that all of this biowar-bs has had an impact on other people now, as well - those who were certain they'd pre-order the new games, have now had a change of heart. Very likely it's just a drop in the ocean for EA's profits but still happy to see people 'voting with their feet', as we say, and taking their money elsewhere as a protest.

After the DAIMP fiasco, I don't think they deserve my money. I've got serious doubts about ME:A anyway, and don't think there's a point to MP without a community to share it with.

My interest in MP comes and goes but it was more frequent when I could post about it, or ask questions, or watch plat-solos to learn mechanics visually and try em myself.

I would also like to see this biovar's master idea making it to some gaming related magazines, websites or other news sites like that! If it already hasn't happened - and I certainly hope it has - people should make those places/sites aware of this, and get more publicity for this idiotic, shortsighted decision that they made regarding the forums.

The people that are being paid to protect us from profanity probably are not working on the games. Deciding to not buy Bioware's games because some overzealous fairy went rampant on a forum is a little silly. The forum really shouldn't go, though. I guess it's true that some other platforms make communicating with the fans a little quicker and easier, but forums have organization and stability. Facebook posts all get jumbled together, and otherwise good posts can get pushed into oblivion with the "Like" function. Forums still have a huge functional advantage.

i will buy the next ME if the MP is as good and/or better (if possible). 

im a MP scrub and didnt buy me3 for the SP, even tho i have ME2 for SP on my other account and i confess i didnt really care for me1.

 

hopefully they will do a demo for the next ME, that is what got me to buy ME3 was like i said the MP gameplay.

 

 

as far as the store thing, i find it funny people complain about ultra-rares being hard to obtain, its almost like the name of that category is misleading or something...

For ME3 I pre-ordered the collectors edition, that I won't do for ME:A.

Biovar is not getting any more money from me.

I'd do it again, but I'd certainly warn myself to expect things to get worse over time, incrementally, and then ultimately end vary badly.

Here is how it will affect me.

 

I will buy the games because games provide good entertainment value for the dollar.

 

I used to buy all expansions, now this will only happen if they are given good pr.

 

I will not contribute financially to any mp game.  I did spend money on me3mp not to get items but usually after a expansion pack came out i'd toss 5 or 10 bucks their way to show support for a good game and good expansions.  I did not spend on DAIMP because it was so bug ridden.

 

I will not buy any Bio merchandise,. I have a couple of hats, and about 3 tshirts, was thinking of buying other stuff, not any more,  I am not even going to wear my bioware gear anymore, to the good will it goes.

I'd still have come here and posted because I met a lot of great people. They can't take that away from me even if they close this place down.

 

I'd still get ME:A if the game is good enough to warrant the price tag, but there wont be an official community for me to do my datamining and mechanics testing which is the most disappointing thing for me because I enjoyed how in depth this community really got with that sort of thing.

 

I'm not even sure I would get the same leniency that I did with ME3 MP. I did a number of things that were against the rules to get a lot of that in-game mechanics data, like using memory hacking software and modding game files.

It's the first thing that's made me take a step back and consider my pre-order.

 

However, I am much more pragmatic about the issue it represents. EA and others have put out many high quality games since the release of ME3 MP. None of those games lasted nearly as long for me because the community engagement just wasn't there. Facebook, twitter, instagram and the like are just marketing tools. Those outlets exist solely for a PR rep to pad stats and point out what a good job they're doing to superiors. These forums were far more core to what made ME3 MP. We all disagreed on so many things, but knowing that the team was there and trying to constantly improve the game was very rewarding.

 

EA never gave Johnson and Fangan and every other employee involved in ME3 MP's community enough credit.

 

Just reading various forums and throwing out twitter updates isn't enough.

Just hiring some guy to write up blogs in which to what forth we will reveal teasers to in an upcoming video unto dark the future, but a future and necessarily this week's future. This week at Bioware we’re lurking in a grey area. Somewhere between the Darkness and the Light is where you’ll find us. smdh.

 

If I don't have confidence in the longevity of a game then I figure; 'Why bother?'

I will wait for the ME:A reviews. Then I'm going to decide whether I buy it or not. IMO, it doesn't make sense for a publisher, to develop a game without a proper communication platform, where players can exchange their experiences or help with problems concerning gameplay or make the game itself running.

The important is the journey, not the destination, so yeah, I would have bought it anyway.

 

As for ME:A, I will buy it too, because I'm curious about the SP. If it's bad, I know I will want to see how bad it is by myself. But without a proper community (lol at Facebook and Twitter to talk about the game), I will probably play the MP way more casually than I used to with ME3 MP.
