Does it make sense from a business perspective to harras the talented and uniquely skilled people into leaving the company so that they no longer have the same talent to sustain the quality expected from fans of the franchise?

Because twitter and Reddit are beacons of constructive conversation and human decency, right?

Truth is those environments are twice as toxic and have less reach, mostly due to a lack of centralization. If I have to use a search function instead of a mouse the marketing message is being drowned out.

Heaven forbid Somebody like James Earl Jones should die on N7 day and a suicide bomber hits.

You won't even trend under those circumstances.

If you want a legion of loyal fans you don't break them up and scatter your centurions.

As if that would work anyway...........Twitters, Facebooks, Youtubes, Reddits..........they cannot hide.

I suppose Bioware didn't think of that. They may as delete there accounts on there too, if they can't stand feedback they don't like.

Exactly why is this productive for anyone? I mean what do you want? To enslave them and make them produce goods for you, well then you can't scare them away with harrassment because they don't be able to roll in the huge massive killer moneys.

Like it or not, if you are a slaver, then you have to occasionally not beat your slaves, then their no good to you then eh?

Now you have to do it, and you all have proven so overwhelmingly capable of making great AAA well received video games amirite?

You just want to spew venom at them? What does that do for you? You just waste your life and theres, grow old and die someday having achieved nothing.

Evolution doesn't care, if that's how you want to spend your life it will happily remove you from the gene pool.

You really are assuming I actually care about you in any way, which is weird. If you don't want to answer my question, fine, but don't make the same mistake twice, please.

That means nothing, as it's not evolution that's happening here. It's EA slowly killing off Bioware, like they did to various other small companies they bought. And this forum isn't that bad actually, there are far worse places to go, like Reddit, etc.

If you spend your life just making another person miserable there are 2 casualties there.

No one killed Bioware because plenty of people liked the endings, like the games, bought the games, they sold a ton, what's the only intervening factor? This place.

If you think these things, than other game forums must shock you. Because I'm fairly certain Bethesda's forums are even more poisonous than this place put together due to how crappy Falllout 4 was. And EA killed Bioware, they killed it the moment they bought the company.

It's not that simple, some places are toxic... well to be honest... some places are abusive but it's come to my attention that a lot of people are into that sort of thing, somehow.

Bioware wasn't, that should of been clear, failing to recognize that means the sins fall on the shoulders of the cancerous numnuts who spewed all over this place, and closing this place is part of the cosmic reckoning.

I doubt it, people will criticize anyway regardless of product quality.

No. I just know if you can't accept or tolerate something, and act on that, then you are wrong and you are making the world a worse place. That was this place, and they made the world a worse place, and are bad, disgusting people.... well "people." I should say... more like animals.

I was referring to the phenomenon where people, who knowingly and accept some kind of caustic back and forth because they con sensually agree to it, which doesn't have anything to do with gaming or toxicity per se but rather a person's understanding of their own strengths and limitations vis-a-vis another person.

Some women on Reddit, like to be told they are a worthless deranged ****** or something, and they set up an arrangement with a guy that does that to them. Is that toxic? Well it's not inspiring, but if they agree to it, well they agree to it.

That's why people can refer to "toxic" environments like reddit as being worse, when in theory it looks worse, but since those are consensual arrangements in many instances they aren't problematic like here, which wasn't. This was just triggered **** holes who wanted to destroy something more powerful to them, probably on orders from their profoundly moronic and worthless trophy wife/husband scumsucking maggot entities.

Then they should've employed HUMAN moderators to do a little clean up. Maintaining a high posting standard is very easy when people know a board is frequently moderated. But they were too fat & cheap and now they're taking the coward's way out, just nuking the lot instead of making the necessary effort of cleaning up the proper way.

The Battle.net forums are even worse, the only threads that get deleted are those who bash Blizzard's devs. Yet incessant trolling & spamming runs rampant. Just like here.

Bioware only got themselves to blame. You're not gonna win this argument, sister. Quit while you're behind.

I don't care exactly who to blame is for, exactly, how, it's entirely possible Bioware itself dropped the ball, they are human, after all.

Basic common decency shouldn't be a super complicated concept in 2016 though, and one way or another, that ship sailed, so like it or not, that  means people are going to get blamed and everything is worse off.

Saying, well "they should of made more appropriate preparations for people's own stupidity and angst" is a little backwards don't you think?

How about censoring the stupidity and angst? That's much more sensible in the grand scheme of things, eh?

The World was made a worse place when the internet came into existence, so blame the person who made the world of the supposed 'bad, disgusted people" rather than you just making assumptions; because this place is nothing compared to some of the more poisonous places on the internet.

Lol tell that to every other period in history, we only started not having every moment be the worst time ever in the 19th century.

Back in 30 BC you just rolled down the street and killed people just because, death threats, anger, whatever, all this? It's an improvement, whether you like that fact or not.

Ancient Greece was basically Iraq under Saddam Hussein, or Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, but no one reads or bothers to interpret or understand history so people are just running around like chickens with their heads cut off all the time.

No it's not, because the internet can bring out the worst in everyone. No matter how much a select few try to conduct themselves in a respectful manner, there will always be those who just let loose.

But if moderation is vigilant, it won't last long. But here moderation was ABSENT, and so people saw that acting out didn't get you in trouble........and standards dropped. More and more people got into it, moderators' indifference bred toxicity and this is what we have now.

Like I said, Bioware only got themselves to blame.

I think you are misunderstanding at least one point.

Consensual vs. nonconsensual, some people agree to have crappier lives because they know they are dumb and don't deserve better.

Death and mortality bring out the worst in everyone, and has been for all time, the internet is only making that fact clear.

Non-consensual intervention is horrible everywhere, and this place was rife with it in the extreme.

Non-consensual intervention can be aggressive or passive aggressive. All of that is wrong, period, again, your fallback examples are probably more consensual than not, they just feature less scrupulous but still consensual acts.

If you are acting on negative triggers you are doing it wrong, this describes almost the entire modern world. We're positively bathed in sin and stupidity.

This is easily the nadir of human history, but I think because we're finally making it to the other side, so to speak.

Although I think announcing the forum close-sure really stuck it to be people, so as of this second, it's actually not that bad.
