When? Within the span of a year? He would have to travel to Ostagar first. Why bother? And wouldn't that necessarily leave him too little time to plan for the unlocking of the orb? He also claims he dreamt in Tevinter and saw the ancient city of Barindur (sp?), a city buried in ash. I don't see him traveling all over in just one year and also coordinating with his spies to lead Corypheus to the orb.

My impression was that Solas was trying to establish a timeline for himself. Meaning, he wanted the Inquisitor to think that he was traveling all over Thedas for the past 30 years or so. In truth, he was wandering far and wide through the Fade in dreams.

A fact that many seem to ignore, but didn't the rogue Saarebas from Redemption used a mask belonging to Fen'harel in an attempt to summon him? My bets are on that.

Yeah, I was thinking that the Mask of Fen'Harel might have played a role. At the very least it might have been an artifact that intended to awaken and/or release Fen'Harel. Maybe there might be more of such artifacts? Since the timeline might be off between redemption and solas awakening.

Though I do think that Flemythal aka Asha'Bellanar, had Dalish elves to awaken him someway

Why would she awake someone she knew would kill her and would attempt to destroy the world?

Why would she awake someone she knew would kill her and would attempt to destroy the world?

Part of her grand plan for vengeance, maybe?

She's been around for centuries and Mythal has been a wisp since her murder. If she was concerned about potentially getting killed by Solas, she would have made plans especially since she was murdered by the Evanuris. In anything, Solas ripped out wisp/soul of Mythal to fuel his magic and/or knowledge, so she's as "alive" as Urthemiel was when inside Kieran.

There's Morrigan, whoever drank from the well and who knows what other deal she's made throughout the years.

I don't think the world will be destroyed; veil of no veil the world will exists ... but what lives in that world don't matter so long as it's not darkspawn. Even in DAO I got the impression she cares more about the world's well-being, but not necessarily the inhabitants of the world.

Well, yes darkspawn are bad, but so are the Evanuirs, the thing I don't get from Solas' plan is what he could do against them, he said he was unable to kill them, and that seal them away was the best option, but now his plan will free them, even with Mythal's wisp, he may at best be as strong as he used to be, meaning that he would be unable to beat them once more, so the whole plan is "screw this, I prefer the elven jerks"? How does that fit with Mythal's vengeance?

These are just speculation, but I do believe that one of her plan was to remove the veil so the Evanuris could be permanently killed or incapacitated. I don't think that Solas is meant to be the one defeating the Evanuris. If anything it'll be the new protagonist knowing BW.

If the stories are to be taken seriously, the Evanuris hate each other, so it's possible they'll be busy trying to off each other. Who's to say they haven't been weaken by being sealed so long as Solas was originally?

Then there's the issue with the Tirashan Elves who apparently worship the Forgotten Ones, the awakening of Ancient Dragons via Yavana+ Calenhad blood. Her dealing with the Sabrae clan (with Hawke), Mythal somehow being associated with the dwarves and it's been speculated that she visited Sandal in somecapacity and probably more stuff we don't know about.

Basically, Flemythal has her fingers in a lot of things for a long long time. As Solas said the Elvhen could take centuries to create a spell ... and Flemythal has been around for centuries planning. Hopefully she didn't layout plans for a Crucible-like weapon  <_<

He woke up because he discovered that Bioware was going to shut the Forums down. Unfortunately, even his great magic powers were not enough to stop this.
