Ran into an interesting bug in that mission last night, if you are a solider with enough storm speed I was able to reach Tali's aunt before the initial automated cut scene and talk to her doing so skipped the first part of the trial and jumped you to the conversation with her after it lots of yelling about dead fathers and so on. I reloaded though missed my renegade points by doing that.
