We need everyone we can get to come join us and keep our community alive.BioWare is obviously not worried about this place at this point,but I am.Without you guys my days(even at work)will be empty because this is the main social network I'm interested in,not BW,but you guys.So I ask that you give it a chance and just see,I mean what do you have to lose?At least keep it in mind when looking for a new place to chill.

I've never had an actual personal problem with CS and the majority of people who are skeptical I'm sure haven't either. But would you trust them with your IP address? Not a smart move...

I think people are being a little short-sighted. Given what we know CS has already done, I'd be extremely wary of giving out info as "trivial" as an email or ip address.

To be honest, one's IP address is less of an issue, it has more to do with passwords and e-mail addresses.

 

People who aren't careful, and register with a common password that also covers either their e-mail or any other accounts on the internet, that is enough information to hack into someone's data via any of several easy methods.

 

And it's not a question of whether you think the person/people with that data will act nefariously with it, it's a question of whether you trust those people with sensitive information.

 

And I'll remind everyone of the established level of honesty of the person being trusted with this information.

 

As always, do what you like, but do try and keep your eyes open, in the process. Walking around with your eyes closed is... unwise. Nothing bad will necessarily happen, but... opening your eyes makes a big difference in the likelihood of tripping over something.
