I wouldn't be backing it right now if I didn't think it would work,but we have a steady influx of BSNers joining,both new members and veterans like myself who have been here for years.I know CS has had some questionable actions in the past,but who am I to judge.Right now moderation is being established,and they are respectable members here as well.

If it has a proven track record then why is it indeed a ghost town? That place obviously isn't as "all that" as people are making it out to be.

 

Only the BioWare section which was created today.  The rest is very active (see above post).

After reading a lot a post in multiple forums, deciding which new forum I will ultimately join, that seems to be the consensus. I don't know what went on, but whatever happened Cassandra seem to be in the middle of it all.

We surely want what's best for the BioWare fan community, we just don't know what that is yet.

But in 25 days the discussions here, where everyone is right now, will be over.

 

We need a port in a storm.

When the storm is over we can decide if that port works or whether we sail somewhere else.

 

And if there are concerns about Cassandra personally, I would feel much more comfortable asking her directly about that than all this beating about the bush.

 

If she had some issues in the past (we all have baggage) I only need to know three things:

1. Is that behind her?
2. Are her values* aligned with what 'new BSN' needs to be?
3. Does she know how to put a terrific fan forum together?

*On values, I think a terrific forum would need to be open, smart and accommodating of occasional fun i.e. there's a difference between fun trolling and bad trolling. It should be able to criticise but be able to be constructive doing it and there should be no place for hate of others.

Its sort of like our own Ark. We're escaping the inevitable destruction of the Bio forums. Maybe we do leave because of the reapers after all.

I joined TSG and I quite like it there. People are cool and for what I can see Admins there are trying to create a real community with dedicated Movie Nights and Streams. It's still growing but the intentions are admirable. So I joined.

I like where things are going there,and I know most of the members.Besides,as others have mentioned,if we don't think it will work out then at least we will be able to discuss other options from the same place,even as a group on the shout box.

It all depends on what people are looking for. If you're looking for a surrogate BSN you aren't going to find that on TSG or VSN. They're just different types of forum. Despite the name the gaming section on TSG is dead most of the time, and people don't go there to discuss BioWare.

 

This "New BSN" looks promising, but I wouldn't go anywhere near anything that has Cassandra Saturn at the helm. Her having so many people's IP addresses is worrying to say the least.

 

I'd say the RealDragonAgeFans forum is going to be the most like BSN in the long run. Like I said though, it all depends on what people are looking for and there's nothing stopping people from joining multiple forums, or all of them.
