On topic... I have updated offsite BSN's index to match Lady Artifice's.
I hadn't checked in here in a while, or I would have done it sooner.
Hmm I'm just thinking, since a number of the sites either don't have Legacy game sections or don't have Legacy game subforums for specific games it seems (from what I've read so far at least) the NWN and BG communities may be migrating elsewhere.
If that is the case, could you perhaps add a small section at the bottom of the OP mentioning where those communities are going? (especially since the mods appear to be a little overzealous and closed the BG topic discussing where they would go...)
For example...
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2:
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2:

I'll just quote your whole post in the OP.

I can't speak authoritatively.
I believe that Fexelea and Cyonan would both be prepared to create sections to house both the data and the forums for those legacy games.
I don't know as far as what can be preserved (there are some projects working on that and we have to hope and wait.)
Certainly, given the circumstances, the more hosts hosting data from TBF/BSN the better, because once August 26th hits, our options become limited. I only mean to suggest that you and others should feel free to request subforums in as many of the existing options that will host you.
I can even offer you space on a smaller private board, although it wouldn't likely meet your needs. But do please register with Fexelea, and the offsite BSN, and explore the options by posting in both places about potential cooperation to preserve your metadata and subforums. I think, as things unfold, there will be opportunities there, although it is hard to firmly predict the shape of things at the moment.
And as far as offsite BSN goes, I'm happy to forward any requests to the admin on your behalf. I don't know what would be involved, but I know that Cyonan and the others would be very inclined to help in any way they can.
I'm planning on importing the Legacy games sections too. I just haven't made the categories because I am focusing on getting the data ![]()
Btw we need to get creative in promoting the transfer, I feel a lot of people are unaware of it and will regret not having claimed their accounts. Ideas?

I can send out some PMs to people who aren't on very often, add something more specific to my signature, and mention it in a some specific threads as well.
Thank you Lady Artifice ![]()

I'm not a member of those communities on here myself, I just lurk around. But I love and have played those old games many times over the years, which is how I noticed that the communities were going to different places because there weren't subforums set up for them elsewhere.
I am a member on both the new BSN and Fextralife, and the above is precisely why I've asked in both that Legacy forums and subforums be setup.
In terms of backing up content I know they already have the NWN sections covered themselves, and I imagine the broader archiving efforts should be able to back up the BG2 and other Legacy game forum content.
Anyway like I said I don't personally know anyone else, but the topics they are or were discussing this on are here: NWN, NWN2, BG1 and 2 (like I said the BG one was locked) in case you want to try contacting them.

I hope you don't mind but I am using the same signature as you.
Oh man, that last page

OT: Kudos to all of you for facilitating the move for members. And preserving the info. Will need it for future playthroughs.

Wait, Cyonan has a BSN? I'll get behind that.
Have you signed up yet? I did a few days ago. It's very well organized.

An update for everyone!
Mass Effect Andromeda was successfully imported, I'm now testing account "dotting" (so your posts are added to your account) on a large scale, once that test is done I'll move this to the live board.
Please notice the 200,000 imported posts ![]()

Nicely done.

I'll probably be doing it this week. I think that and Fextralife are going to be the best options for what I'm looking for.
The Mass Effect Andromeda subforum has been fully imported
You can find all your threads here:
http://fextralife.co...ral-discussion/
There are some formatting issues that will be resolved as we move forward, for now I will focus on importing more subforums.
Everyone who signs up and claims their account can continue posting on their long threads with their posting history intact - so make sure to claim your account!
@Lady Artifice It would be great if you could update the OP to explain I am actually going to replicate the forums and account history from here to provide continuity ![]()
@Fexelea: are you also going to import the ME3/ME2/ME1 forums? I'm thinking of all the guides etc. which are going to get lost if not...
And I gather we can still make an account on your forums and get our post history imported anytime till the BSN closes?

Go here and follow instructions (also kind of proving fexelea's point that the word is not getting out enough):
https://forum.biowar...r-post-history/
Nah, I actually saw the thread (though apparently I haven't read closely enough), the question was more about if there was a deadline until you could register over there AND get your post history saved.
As for the guides etc., I guess that was indeed answered in the FAQ.
But more of a terminology question: do the legacy forums include the old BSN network?

Yes you can still claim your account, just post on the relevant thread after you've made it and I'll add you with the next batch.
I now have the Dragon Age Keep subforum, working on Origins. I'll try to save everything, if time and space allows.
