Long story short. Played ME 1 finished the game , started a new game + with my save to level up shepard more.
Traded the game for something else, kept the saves. Bought ME2 today and fired it up and it dosen´t find my commander Shepard from the Xbox 360 hard drive. So much for my personal preference for the story

If the game would even ask me if I´d played the last game and start a screen where it asks some of the main quest decisions I would be happy. Now I guess I have to start playing with a new Shepard then ? That sucks !

Try loading up a save right before the final battle with Saren, complete that game again and let it save, and that should work,

yeah. a BIG bummer. SPOILER *What´s worse is that apperently Kaylen survived when u select the preset beginning. I let him die without a tear in the first game. I´ll be pissed if Wrex isn´t alive. I kept him close the whole first game with Garrus. *SPOLER END*


On the upside.. the game is awesome as hell ! Loved every second so far

I'm guessing you played a Femshep because otherwise Ashley definitely lived. I played through once without importing Shepard just to see what happens and it was definitely Ashley that lived. So did you play Femshep because if not then something is wrong. Also, go into your saves on the 360 and look and see if your ME 1 save files are there and intact. Furthermore, just rent the game, load up one of your last saves, and beat it again. It will take 5 minutes and it is well worth the few dollars it will cost to rent it. The story is so much better if you import.

yes this is an issue I had even in ME1 any character that i completed in ME1 before i got the dlc for the game screwed up the load existing ID, and the same is with ME2, the only id ME2 sees from ME1 is the one character I played through with after I had the dlc added in ME1.



It really was a bummer and hopefully the same issue of dlc for ME2 will not ruin my old id's

With how much ME1 costs now, I'd just buy it again rather than renting it.



But then, my Mass Effect 1 & 2 CE's are on my list of stuff to save if my house was on fire.

There aren´t any game renting places in my country. I live in Finland Europe so my best bet would be to buy the game again..  Which I won´t cause it seems silly to buy the first one again just to create a save file for #2 . Ah well. Guess life goes on.
