Can someone PLEASE help me understand what could POSSIBLY be the reasoning for hardcapping level at 27, im at 84 hour and have just done the second story quest, and im stuck at 27 with 3 DLC, and 15% of the vanilla game left, and i will gain nothing from doing anything, except the stories (which are good, for all their many MANY flaws, they do make great stories)

But back to the question, why hard capping, why not just soft cap at 27 and then make the next levels 5 or 10 times more expensive, i dont get how they can use time and effort on the DLCs, but not at the same time fix this issue, it just makes no sense what so ever, and of all possible solutions, the xp trial option is the worst.

Even now i really dont understand how hard it can be to add maybe 8 more levels, from a technical standpoint it seems pretty straight forward, now i understand that DAI is dead to them, and they wont do anything with it anymore, but im just so confused by the decision making on this topic.

I don't know. I think it's dumb, too. It should have at least been raised as they added DLC.

For future playthroughs, turn on the Take It Slow trial, which gives you XP at half the normal rate. Did you have Even Ground or Walk Softly turned on? Those trials make you level up significantly faster.

Anyway, all we were ever told about the level cap was something vague about a higher level cap causing issues with the underlying systems. None of us really understand the technical issues behind it, which is frustrating, but it doesn't seem like they had much choice.

Wait, you got all the way to level 27 before you hit Skyhold?
