What romance do you think loves more the protagonist?

For example I would say Leliana, but since she gladly break up or even tries to kill the HoF if he/she poison the urn of Sacred ashes

Faith > Love?

 

Same with Cassandra, break up with the "man she loves" because she got a job she admits "didn't wanted", where is the love there?

Same with Dorian leaving the character to be a magister in Tevinter

 

Or Anders saying to a romanced Hawke "There is no one in Kirkwall I wouldn't kill to see the mages free"

Alistair breaking up with the female HoF because he is king and the warden isn't queen.

Cullen breaking up with the Inquisitor if he drinks lyrium again.

Sera breaking up with the Inquisitor if she is a dalish elf because of her faith

 

Maybe Morrigan could be that romance, since even if you rejected the dark ritual, you still can go with her thought the Eluvian, or Merrill, beside the fact she never tells Hawke she goes to the alienage to repair the mirror. Fenris seems to love Hawke too but the "Wait 7 years for me" same as Isabela is exaggerated.

Fenris. He overcame his hate for mages and fell in love with my mage Hawke. And they are still together romantically, even though they are physically apart at the moment - Hawke in Weishaupt and Fenris hunting Tevinter slavers

 

As Hawke said, "Fenris would have died to protect me." And I think he would do, Fenris is very much in love with Hawke.

I don't mind this as the player. My Inquisitor isn't happy, but he understands. I don't think it means that Dorian loves the Inquisitor any less. Heck, Trespasser is the first time we actually get to hear Dorian use the word "love."

Cassandra does not have to become the Divine. She is also not the marrying type but,is more focus on her mission of rebuilding the Seekers..Enjoy your time together and move on since she's a lost cause.

 

The Warden can take a pinch of ashes and return to Redcliff since the mission has successfully ended giving Leliana no reason to attack-in all 23 games she is yet to attack Tidus.

 

In DA:I one can "romance" Lace without any commitment.. Vivienne even asks about her in Trespasser during "Spa day" well,that's what I call that cut scene.

 

The HoF and Leliana can travel the world together at the end of DA:O and they was even seen in Denerim after the Vigil's Keep mess.

 

Leliana  and the warden settles down together even if she is the Divine according to one of the endings of Trespasser.

 

Morrigan has her warden but,from the way she talks it seems to be more of a close relationship while not being a  full commitment.

 

Of course one option the player has is not to import any world and just let the chips fall where they may.

He had the option to choose between the Inqusitor and Tevinter, he choose Tevinter and didn't even wanted to take you with him, a relationship with a medieval cellphone is just... stupid... and in his romance you never know if you are the passive or the active.

I actually found Iron Bull + the Inquisitor to be the most romantic and loyal. For freak sake while they have their shitty explanation

Iron Bull is in the same room as the Inquisitor. And even when he had the chance, "Now Hissard, help us" Iron Bull throws that all away, when he says, "Not a chance"

 

Then after we beat the dumb mini boss there, he calls me Kadan.

 

Seriously Iron Bull is the most faithful, most loving, and I just really like the Iron Bull romance.

I think all LI love the protagonist the same. Everyone loves differently but that doesn't mean someone loves your character more than the others.

I would say either Fenris or Merril by that standards as they never leave or betray you on their own with 100 % in ther relationships..

Well that's the thing, I made him save the Chargers, because it was important. Imo, after Ignace heard all of the information and backstory about Iron Bull. He knew Iron Bull deeply cared and loved the Chargers. He couldn't hurt a man he respected and appreciated and knew Iron Bull would regret letting them get hurt. He also knew if they got hurt, that Iron Bull already confessed going to the reeducators for other reasons, that Iron Bull would and could do something like that.

 

Sadly, Ignace, was an extremely extremely empathetic Inquisitor I made. He was Andrastrian, cared deeply for the lives of others. Gave people a lot of Mercy. Thus my decisions for Iron Bull were entirely based on Ignace's emotional point of view.

 

While Svan and Iron Bull were good friends, but Iron Bull betrayed Svan. Svan was cheeky, sarcastic, but he was also caring. Him and Iron Bull were extremely good friends, but it wasn't enough.

 

So I know what happens on both parts.

 

But with the right decisions Ignace made, I think I watched the most natural progression of romance and Iron Bull's loyalty I think.....shows how much he appreciates the one he loves.

 

I mean my second choice for best romance is a Cassandra romance because she knows how to balance duty and time for the Inquisitor.

It can be compared and measured, we have Alistair romance in DA:O, that if you want to sacrifice yourself he simply let you do it, and there is Yennefer romance from Witcher 3, she sacrificed herself to resurrect Geralt.

Does your character truly love Cassandra,  Cullen, Alistair, etc, if they cannot accept the situation, even if what your LI does is completely in character? I would say the love interests in DAI are more realistic than alot of games, because a normal human being is not going to stop doing what they want to do, just so they can keep from hurting you. Sure it sucks, sure you might be angry, but that's life. You can either accept your situation, and choose to support or forgive the person you love and move on, or you can be angry and hate them, and move on. Either way will not change a thing. the game portrays that well I think.

Like Fintan and Cassandra, yes I'm using my characters as example. I think Fintan loves Cassandra because he understands her duty comes first, because he's a much "older" character in mind and soul. His duty comes first as well. They love each other, but don't need fairy tale romance to know they love each other. Cassandra has the things she needs to do, he supports her career and encourages her when she is stressing out about her role. Just as he has things to do, and hopes she supports his career.

 

You know like a working relationship.

 

Like I said I think Iron Bull and Cassandra have the best defined Romance, imo.

Fenris and Zevran, I'd say. Once you earn their trust, loyalty and love, they remain faithful and would do anything for you. Zevran remains in mourning if the Warden dies and I think Fenris would not cope very well if Hawke dies in the Fade either.

Are you saying that MY character, the character who spent most of the game sexually harassing Cassandra, had to fulfill her brat wishes and was the one with the pants in the relationship, didn't love Cassandra?

Dude, is the protagonist the one who start the romance, is the protagonist who fight for the romance, how many personal missions of the Character did your companions?

 

Perhaps Zevran because he is helping the HoF to find the cure for the taint, but the other characters does nothing for the romance.

Cassandra had the option to choose her work, or the man she claimed to love, she preferred her work and broke up with the Inquisitor.

Way better than Mass Effect where every character is a suck up even if you treat their opinions and feeling like cr*p.

We still don't know why Morrigan wanted the soul of the Archdemon, maybe it was important, I don't believe the reason was "I wanted to feel a demon baby inside of mah body"

Probably the Dark Ritual had something special, that's why after the dark ritual the Warden gains point in magical penetration if he is a mage.

My love for Cassandra is so great that I support her in what she does. The things she tries to do to make the world a better place is admirable and its okay if we have to break up for her to achieve that... 

 

Plus if she becomes Divine, my inquisitor and her can always have a little free time on the side in her room
