I'm gonna go ahead and sneak this in here before the mods catch on to me. Commence with the copy pasted message!

Anyways, most of you here probably know me. I'm making a new forum to replace the BSN once this place shuts down.

I'm gonna go ahead and ask then promptly answer the obvious here: Why am I making this forum when another one was recently created? Simply put, I don't believe those forums will recapture the feel of these forums beyond the first little while.

What I want to make is a forum that will last and not just fall off in a few months time, and that means getting many of the pillars of the community in on it at the top levels. Most of you around here already know me as the one who did a ton of the datamining and mechanics testing. I'm a professional programmer who can devote a lot of time and expertise to these forums.

I'm hoping to get a lot of the other more well known people around here on board with me as well.

You can find the new forums here: http://bsn.boards.net/. I'm still working on setting things up and I'm open to suggestions on things to add or change.

Also because I made a little joke in the ME3 MP forum thread pretending like I cared about this being on topic: I hope to one day get the forums to be an official LI in Mass Effect: Andromeda complete with hair that has full realistic physics. Thoughts?

There are entirely too many substitutes being presented. If so many of you keep creating even more there will never be a central hub to actually substitute the BSN.

Stop making new ones when several have already been created for the same purpose. Stop suggesting existing forums with no dedicated BioWare sections. Stop.

Right now there's actually 2 main forums that are fully dedicated to BioWare games: This one, and the one created by Cassandra Saturn.

The VSN and TSG are cool communities but they were projects more meant for a replacement of the lobby for people to just chill in, and TSG is also meant for a forum for Johnny Walker's YouTube channel once that gets going. Good places, but not really a proper BSN replacement.

and as I mentioned, I have reservations about how long Cassandra's forum will last unfortunately.

It looks like it's coming along well. And yes, stability is important.

edit:  i, too, would prefer a forum that is actually dedicated to BW games...with some gravy, ofc.

Thunderdome. It's the only solution.

This looks like the best option for a BSN replacement.

This one seems the most user friendly so far, when it comes to colors and design.

If you don't think that's coming stay tuned. I haven't picked one yet.

But I guarantee you this.

Individuals who have previously had no power will now have too much. Rivalries will go unchecked.

People will form attack squads and secretly sign up to their online enemies forum and launch a surprise attack.

I've dubbed this hypothetical assault: Operation Fire Cobra Claw.

Because they will probably do the exact the same thing.

At which point they'll try to live out their past glories while the world around them crumbles and forgets they exist.

But they'll be fighting on several fronts as internal dissent takes hold in both camps, with desertions rife their creators will gradually begin to stop caring.

The new forums, covered in bullet holes and craters from Mako fire, having lost their shine are retired.

Depending on how quickly this happens that will be long past the point at which people forgot about Shepard.

I can guarantee you we will not engage in aerial bombardment of the other forums.

There's no time for that.

This post was made better by the fact that as I read it, my music list randomed to the original Battlefield 1942 theme.

As long as I'm around, that's not gonna happen.

For the most part, all of the substitutes offer different things. It is a tad bit frustrating given the thought that this might fracture the community across the board even more, however, it is very important to note that all members of BSN came to BSN for different reasons, therefore each of those forums may have something that is better fitting for them. So while one gigantic board would be ideal, it isn't going to happen (that was one thing that BSN had unique to it that likely won't be recaptured unfortunately).

Yep.

There's lots of small community in the BSN and not all have the same needs and wants.

There's the Mass Effect community and ME3 multiplayer.

People who mostly hang in Twitter Threads.

The more off topic community.

The DA one.

And in the DA one there's the Cullen and Solas followers .
