For the most part, all of the substitutes offer different things. It is a tad bit frustrating given the thought that this might fracture the community across the board even more, however, it is very important to note that all members of BSN came to BSN for different reasons, therefore each of those forums may have something that is better fitting for them. So while one gigantic board would be ideal, it isn't going to happen (that was one thing that BSN had unique to it that likely won't be recaptured unfortunately).

 

I think the biggest concern is going to be staying power. BSN Prime(what I've taken to calling this forum) automatically had it because it was BioWare's own forum. Anybody looking for a place to talk about BioWare games was probably going to end up here one way or another at some point.

 

but as fan made forums, we don't get the luxury of a steady stream of new blood from that source.

Yep, you know where had a significant drop off in new members after the closing of the Lobby founding. We are now starting to see a steady stream of new members come in in the first time in quite a while and numbers only go down from there, as you personally know I'd recommend hitting up Bioware Twitter, Facebook, and their potential future forums (just point out what happened here) for more life blood. Haha, I'm making us sound like vampires XD

Anyways, most of you here probably know me. I'm making a new forum to replace the BSN once this place shuts down.

 

I'm gonna go ahead and ask then promptly answer the obvious here: Why am I making this forum when another one was recently created? Simply put, I don't believe those forums will recapture the feel of these forums beyond the first little while.

 

What I want to make is a forum that will last and not just fall off in a few months time, and that means getting many of the pillars of the community in on it at the top levels. Most of you around here already know me as the one who did a ton of the datamining and mechanics testing. I'm a professional programmer who can devote a lot of time and expertise to these forums.

 

I'm hoping to get a lot of the other more well known people around here on board with me as well.

Also because I made a little joke in the ME3 MP forum thread pretending like I cared about this being on topic: I hope to one day get the forums to be an official LI in Mass Effect: Andromeda complete with hair that has full realistic physics. Thoughts?

Was thinking about Reddit right now, it seems salty enough for my taste, but it's formatting is killing me, so I wish you luck to get enough people for your board.

It seems that there will be no consensus on emigration site and with few people registered these place will die off instantly.

Hey there, Cyonan!

 

I was planning to returning to the online community once Andromeda hits, but I randomly stumbled on the news that the forus will be closed. This is sickening. I'll gladly join your forums then!

 

I won't move on to reddit and especially tumblr (yuck). I don't know if closing the forums is a sign of low quality incoming, but it hell isn't reassuring if a gamedev giant can't spare a dime for maintaining official forums.

The point being that anyone with an internet account can make a forum in 5 minutes and someone will start posting in it !

 

For this community, we need one forum focused on BioWare IP that most of us can get behind and I can see we're struggling with that at the moment.
