My god, how many times do I walk in taking stuff because of my hoarder brain only to realize in general I am stealing. It doesn't say I am, but I am.

Consider the Ballroom Empress Quest, being in the Winter Palace.

All those chest and other loot you find, you're stealing from the Empress.

Well I mean in The Elder Scrolls series it is considered thieving.

And to be fair, there is a lot of political circumstance for the Inquisitor just storming in and taking people's stuff. Actually, since I realized this I stopped looting people's houses, UNLESS

The item is blue or purple

Would be nice if the devs would also flag crops as red/stealing in TES/FO games.

I mean it isn't that hard to do. lol....they don't even need a thieving mechanic. It just seemed really dumb that I could walk out of the Winter Palace, with almost all the Empress fat loot and no one stopping me.

Not even the Empress being like, "By the way can I have my crap back"
