Cassandra's concern is in part a genuine challenge (see the second point).

 

The first comment less so, because with BSN's bsn.boards.net more permissive moderation policy, only outright trolling has resulted in bans. Despite the membership of over 1,000 people, over 27,000 posts made, and a wide variation of political views, folk have in the main been getting along and moderation has therefore been light. Occasional trolls aside, I don't see that changing.

 

Cassandra correctly highlights the challenge facing any post-BSN Prime group 'after the lock' because this forum is a primary source of referral, which in 8 days will be cold and in 68 days will be deleted. A variety of people have established 'lifeboats' in good faith, and at high speed. Neither the trigger nor the haste of these community-saving efforts have been of our making, but the attempts to save the community have been pretty impressive on the whole.

 

It will be tough for any post-BSN Prime group to find an audience among new MEA fans, particularly as the (expected) N7 Day MEA marketing launch will take place after this forum is only a memory.

 

I personally joined 4 forums over the last 3 weeks, whittling that down to two. With no disrespect to other groups, the best way to help the community in my view is to get behind one of the groups: bsn.boards.net or fextralife.com (preferably both) that have captured the imagination of most of the community. That is the only way we will have a viable community in place that can attract more membership when MEA rolls around.

I guess Cyonan's site for now, as his outline of his reasons for making it and future plans plus his experience and superior spelling and punctuation made it the most appealing.

We were told that when EA bought Bioware nothing would change, well that turned out to be bullshit. Shutting down your own forums to concentrate on Fuckbook and Shitter has got to be one of the stupidest decision ever made by a game company. Are people at Bioware so sensitive too criticism that instead of trying at least to answer their fans they just decide to shut the whole ****** thing down. Yes people were upset about the ending to Mass Effect 3, but not because it was a bad game but because we liked the series and we were told that our choices would matter, more bullshit.

And with all of the people leaving why should we think that the next game is going to be any good? Okay some of them we probably won't miss.
Is that why there hasn't been any gameplay footage? Don't want to get peoples hopes up?

Why should we believe anything you tell us ever again?  

And lets not forget the petty little wannabe despots that are the mods that are in place, with their arbitrary bans and warning points. What is their collective problems? Do they need surgery to have the sticks removed from their asses?
