This is one of the things I'm sad about. Bioware can do what they want with her character. I don't have the right to complain about that. However, I miss the Liara that I had before, granted I was going to cheat on her anyway. She doesn't seem like the Liara I knew.
I don't get the whole "It's been two years thing." Yes. It has been two years. Do people really drastically change that much in two years? Come on now. 5 yeah, 10 hell yes. 2? Get real. Oh well. I didn't write her so I can only say so much.
Liara, anyone dissapointed as I am?

I don't like that she's doing the Batman voice now.
Seriously, Liara? The Batman? C'mon.

If she's become a jerk, she's become a jerk. I'm controlling my character, not every other character. I don't expect to get a say in how she behaves.
I was... dismayed by it, but not in an "angry at the devs" way. More in an in-game way, where I've come back after two years expecting things to be like they were, but they're not.
As far as the game mechanics go, I was only disappointed I didn't get chance to really lay into her about how she's changed and how disappointed and angry I was with her new attitude. All I got to say was "Oh, you sound like your mother". Oh yes Shepard, that's a Super-Burn alright. And even then she just says something annoying in response. She got me so mad, I wanted to be able to shout at her and storm out. All I got was "Bye then" and leaving quietly.
While I think about it, I think a cool feature (maybe for ME3) would have been the ability to reply to some of the messages you get at your terminal. Just choose a simple paragon/neutral/renegade response, as with a conversation. You could use this to accept or decline missions, or for story choices. For example, after you get the email from Ashley/Kaidan, I'd have like to be able to send a message back to say either "Yeah, it's cool, forget about it" or just "Get bent".

i didn't exactly see her as out of character. you have to understand that Shepard has been gone for two years and a lot has happened in the interim. Liara as i remember her definitely shined through in parts of her conversations. some of which i understand are easy to miss.

I kind have wished for a more personal touch. Like why didn't my character ask why she is so cold? Why didnt he push more for her to join me? Love reunion scenes are supposed to be dramatic no matter how they have changed. Its a matter of good story telling. I had that same issue with Ashley...not dramatic enough....of course she was her normal b*tchy self...but still.
Exactly! I think Shepard's options were the most disappointing part of the whole thing. I get this is probably just a plot point in Liara’s character, but the writers missed the mark.

I was angry she wasn't available in ME2 but how there was no connection between them was terrible. I was expecting more conversation options if she was a love interest but there's nothing! There is really no significant difference in her side missions than if you hadn't romanced her. It seems Urdnot Wrex is the only squad member that actually makes a difference in ME2.

I really thought the way all of the ME1 LIs were handled was cheap. Honestly it's an extreme effort to try to remain faithful to any of them. On Horizon Ash beat my male Shep like he was a rented mule. At least Liara gave up a little sugar before she went into cold-mode.

Its probably because she cheated(if you had her as LI from ME) on you with the Drell from the comics that the shadow broker either killed or has prisoner

I'm reserving final judgment until the rumored DLC arrives... though as it stands I am disappointed.
