So it would be okay if the Reporter was male? Or if its Femshep punching a male reporter somehow empowering? Its the future! Men and women are equal, they are eligible for the same government positions, and fight on the front lines...Punching an ******* is still punching an ******* no matter the gender.

Well.. you're kinda perpetuating a racist stereotype against middle eastern women. If its just her aggressive reporting style, why can't I punch Emily Wong or Diana Allers as well? Because unlike Khalisah, they know how to manipulate Shepard to do their job or offer sex as a side?

I do get that the game allow you to hit her -even if the animations are dumb- but to feel proud of it as if its an accomplishment? Its a game where you could blow people's head apart and yet punching a girl is satisfactory?

It's satisfying because she's actively trying to smear your reputation right in front of you. Diana and Emily both don't do that.

It's also satisfying to knee Conrad Verner in the stomach for being the galaxy's most gullible attempt at a badass renegade spectre.

Neither of those things have anything to do with their genders, and not all of my Sheps do both of those things.

This thread makes me strangely happy. Normally, I'd be vaguely annoyed, knowing it was claiming space on the front page of the forum. Knowing this all coming to an end, though, it's oddly satisfying to see at least one more asinine RC bait thread.

Oh please, Khalisah is not a defenseless women. Sure in ME1 and 2 she took those punches; equal rights and all that, but she did what anybody should do. She took the steps to learn how to protect herself. As I remember it she can knock shepard on his ass. The women is not a pushover and doesn't need a SJW to protect her.

Its pretty disturbing how we got the option to punch that reporter in every single game of the original trilogy. Especially when you're playing as male shepard. A special forces soldier attacking a female civilian is somehow considered hilarious by much of the fanbase. And that's a pretty terrifying thought. Please don't indulge these violence-against-women promoting psychopaths Bioware. You're supposed to be better than that..

people like you are the reason this place is being closed down. the freedom people like you have are taken for granted when threads like this are made. the mere fact that you feel as though your sexist, biased opinions matter to others is a pretty terrifying thought. You are unable to comprehend the virtues of reciprocity. and the fact that moderators have become your enablers is also worrying.

perhaps its for the best that these forums go away.

Diana try to insert herself in a military warship because she claim she could win a war for Shepard despite offering very little contribution other than wearing a trash bag and say "Back in those days, reporters have to wear make up". Emily used you to get intel on Fist's operations and used you to plant bugs in C-Sec and gave you money for the effort... like any military officer is stupid enough to accept a small bribe for it.

You can choose to walk away for Khalisah, choose to ignore her at presidium and she will still give you her war asset in ME3 even if you barely even talk to her. Punching her for comic relief is dumb and make Shepard look even more dumb.

Sad that little things like this make people immediately go defensive and cry "SJW". Like what? This is your only outlet to punch women?

It would be great if there were more scenes with a feisty reporter in ME:A. One that looks like Megyn Kelly. She could knock us down then kick off her shoes and rub her bare toes over our lips while making insinuating remarks about our political leanings. Right! Right...?

Diana Allers is not a good example for anything aside from the shady connections between game developers to gaming news websites.

She did try to use getting punched in the face to smear Shepard, and you can do much worse to a man later in Mass Effect 2.

The point is that punching someone in a video game is a valid tool to portray things, be it anger or whatever else.

The fact that punching a single female reporter in a game full of enemies to kill, electrocute and blow to pieces is even noteworthy (you can punch others in various cutscenes as well, only they are not female, so that's okay, right?) is just another example of the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Violence against women is a much more important problem in real life than violence against men. I don't care what they do to men. Just don't let us brutalize women.

This statement somehow isn't trolling, and yet is repulsive all the same.

This is a game where the PC can do all sorts of terrible things to enemies, allies, and innocent bystanders. I can slaughter an entire colony of people because it was more convenient that using the grenades that will just put them to sleep.

So why are people up in arms about a single reporter being punched? Because she's a Woman?

That's pretty much the answer.

The meaning of Equal Rights to every rational human being: No one is given special privilege, everyone treated equally, and fairly.

What SJWs think equal Right means: Privileges, and more favorable treatment to anyone who isn't a straight white male.

Violence against women is a much more important problem in real life than violence against men. I don't care what they do to men. Just don't let us brutalize women.

Except it isn't violence 'against' women, it is violence against sensationalist reporters. Nothing Shepard does there is a target against a woman per say if the reporter was male it would have played out the exact same. Shepard doesn't punch her because she is weaker or to exert 'his' dominance/authority over her. 'He' does it because she is trying to sensationalize the story and in ME2 does so while dishonouring the death of those who sacrificed all in defence of the citadel. And it isn't even guaranteed that it is a 'he.'

Context is important, was it assault? Yes. Was it a serious moment? No it is an obviously comedic situation especially in the later games. Shepard murders people in the game and that's fine?  You can bloody shoot Conrad for christ sake.

What really gets my goat is the violence against women is a real issue and to try and equate this situation to the real problem and issues is disingenuous. And I am convince this was some faux post to act as a troll or to create some kind of BS to blame on SJW. Who aren't the architects of this.

Yes this is an issue for some reason. It's not like we ever got to beat the **** out of unarmed men either *cough*Quarian Admiral*cough*

I loved punching that JerK, he tried to kill me, I think it was fairly generous and diplomatic considering what he did. Least he didn't get a bullet between the eyes. That's a common cure for those who tries to kill Shepard.
