So it would be okay if the Reporter was male? Or if its Femshep punching a male reporter somehow empowering? Its the future! Men and women are equal, they are eligible for the same government positions, and fight on the front lines...Punching an ******* is still punching an ******* no matter the gender.
I agree, but at the same time, I don't think Khalisha deserved it even if her interviewing language and tone was quite agressive. Also, lore said she had viewers from all species all around the galaxy, I wonder what type of viewers they are but they sure like watching her ask her pointed questions and apparently she gets punched a lot... Enough for her to finaly take a few selfdefence classes...

Not at all, but they shouldn't have a universal immunity to anything they like and get away with it freecard. That's not equality or something that will ever make the situation better because it creates unneeded tension. At the same time, note that I didn't think it was necessary to punch that reporter no matter the gender.
Asking pointed question might be her job but she sure does it with an attitude.

OP makes it clear that the reason he thinks this is an issue is because the reporter is a chick. If it was a male reporter then he wouldn't have an issue.
Thank you OP for enforcing that women are weak and defenseless and cant stand up for themselves.
And now the weather...

The real problem when it commes to abused women has more to do with those chemicly unstable anabola chewing idiots out there. I'm a male and I encountered one of those on a parking lot the other day.
He came up to his car, seemed to think something was wrong then ran over to my parking lot two lots away and started accusing me for slamming my car door against his car. Started raving like a crazy and flexing his muscles. I can just imagine the poor woman that makes the misstake of being his woman. Let's make this clear, they arn't just a problem to women, but a woman is more likely to endup living with one of those brutes. A lot of women seem to be terrible at making the right partner choices, guess it's the hormones making the choices and not their brains.
Maybe it's a similar phenomea as the well known "Thinking with your Dick" problem. Most of the violence against women happens in the home. There are also men being abused by their women but it's less common that it involves physical violence. Often the violence stems from some kind of mental dissorder or substances they're taking.

Yeah well you just supported violence against men, which is weird.
Anyway, the stranger thing than everything is how you are basically projecting your fears about physical violence, what are you really saying is, I'm a sweak scrawggly annoying ******-ant of a man and I don't want anyone to ever hurt me for being a passive aggressive *** to them.

You act like this is a one sided thing.
Taylor swift made a music video saying "don't text your sister or ill think you're cheating and kill you in your sleep"
I've encountered girls on dating sites who probably would have strangled me in my sleep with my own intestines for passing gas in my sleep.
The issue you're citing also is a general roid raging moment, different than punching a reporter in the face for trying to slander you for the sake of their personal ratings.
I've mentioned plenty of times before on here, I don't expect ayone to remember a single individual behind the general "I haven't picked an avatar avatar" I'm a film major and chances are I will have a reporter job and be in aljiani's place, and I still support punching her. Not because she is a woman but because she's a jerk.
We can compare her to another individual we can put in even worse abuse in all 3 games, conrad verner. Sure in ME1 we can put our gun in his face. Depending on the type of person you are this alone can be more traumatizing than the worst we can do to aljiani in all 3 games combined. In ME2 we can SHOOT him in the foot, which I doubt he has kinetic shields or any defense rating on that cosplay. I don't even remember the worse you can do to him in 3 but can't you kill him?
The difference beyond the anatomy of the two is conrad is lost in the magic of hero worship and tries being the robin to your batman. Aljiani instead slanders you, your crew, and your superiors for the sake of her ratings.

So, no fighting words with words? I've only ever fought in self defence, it's always ended with them on the ground and me asking them if maybe we should never ever do that again, and they tend to agree eagerly.
Throwing the first punch on a jerk just seems to imply your own arguments are weak and you choose to change the rules of engagement in desperation.
Also, I did edknowledge that there are insane, unstable and even violent women out there.

Choice to inflict violence against men or women should be there. Certainly women shouldn't be treated as special snowflakes.
Personally my characters generally didn't hit Khalisah as they recognised she was asking legitimate questions.

Let's assume that this is more than empty internet bragging, the thing is - not everyone has that luxury.
Sometimes the only chance you have to successfully defend yourself is by acting preemptively, be it by fighting or fleeing.
As for the annoying reporter, well, she *is* probably stronger when it comes to words. She seems to be very proficient in using them to destroy someone.
Shepard is a soldier, so he / she used the thing they are good at as a response.
That said, I never actually chose to punch her myself.

Geez, relax a little... this is a videogame. I like the option of doing all sorts of things, yes, including punching women or men if I have the opportunity to do so, REGARDLESS of gender. I also enjoy killing off people... which is arguably worse, but hey, I can do it because it's a game!
Also, you realise you don't have to do it? I did it the first time and it was funny as hell to get payback in ME3, but ever since I didn't punch her.
When the hell do we stop to make this an issue of gender?
