What are your plans for Mass Effect: Andromeda? Are you still going to buy it? Pre-order it?

Of course I'll still buy it. And since I'm buying it when it comes out, I might as well pre-order it, though I want to see what editions they'll have. Hoping for ME3 style $90 edition with artbook and steelbook.

I was playing bioware games long before I started posting on the BSN. I play the games because I like the games. Yeah I will miss discussing them on the forum but there are plenty of other third party forums where I can still talk about the games. Ironically some of those forums actually have less trolling.

But given that I've got limited funds, not having the forums will make it a lot easier for me to wait until the price comes down. I might have done that anyway, TBH - I waited a bit on ME3 since the day 1 DLC annoyed me - but I'm pretty much certain to do so now.

Only if there is a plausible leak or confirmation of a krogan romance. Don't care what gender gets the krogan. I just need to see this. ![]()

I'm still going to buy it, but much less enthusiastically than I would have a week prior. Might even sigh dramatically whilst it downloads.
Hope that teaches you a lesson, EAware.

I don't think it impacts what I was going to do much... maybe.
I was always going to be waiting for a substantial grace period to give myself a chance to assess what I was buying. The truth is, I probably wouldn't have hated DA 2 as much as I did if I had a concept of how different it was going to be from DA:O before I bought it on day one (the only time I had ever done so.)
But it's a lesson that is at least as much my own responsibility as anyone else's, so when I had a similar-yet-different experience with ME 3 being pre-ordered, I did finally get it through my head to allow some time to pass when a game comes out, which was what I had always previously done.
So I had always figured it would be a couple of months, with a decent chance of me choosing to wait until it came down in price before getting it.
I am still somewhat curious about the single player campaign, but any momentum for it was cut short in 2012. Had there only been the SP side, it's doubtful I'd be giving it much thought, as it was the MP of ME 3 that I ended up enjoying much more. But I admit, some of what I've heard has piqued my curiosity, so I'll be keeping ME:A on my radar, even if it isn't on my list of things to buy.
As to the multiplayer, they've essentially gutted any hope of that being much of an experience. Between the dissolution of the MP team's Forum QA and Multiplayer community, there isn't enough value left in MP to make it worth considering as part of the purchase.
So I'm still in a "I'll wait and get it later" expectation, but there's now a much higher chance that I'll be getting it used at a much lower price after a much longer waiting period, since there is little I'm inherently interested in about it.

wonder if they'll have an MP Demo as in ME3?
in any case i won't pre-order, in case it never comes out ! .. ![]()
but if all goes well , i'll buy it , but i never buy the collector's edition... it's full of abominations. ![]()

It's going to have to be some kind of crazy inducement to get me to pre order it now that the forums are shutting down. If this move hadn't knocked me sideways I would have pre ordered it for sure, in the hopes that modders could fix any ultimate problems (like ME3).

Sadly, the closure of this forum was a bit of a gut-punch. Discussing the hell out of the games with the community here, usually after my second playthrough, is half the fun. Fortunately, it's looking like we may have actually started a new home, elsewhere. I am cautiously optimistic. The key will be sustaining the community in the long run. Official forums have the advantage of new blood and greater sustained investment, in my experience.
If the game is very good, I'll buy it shortly after release. If it is merely good, I'll wait for a discount. (There will be other games releasing in the same quarter which will make my inattentiveness to ME easier.) If the worst came to pass, and it were a disappointment, I'd likely just pass on it and leave the IP with the good memories I have.
As it is, I hope it turns out well, and that I'm energetically discussing the game next spring with a lot of you ladies and gents over in the new forum at bsn.boards.net

Doubt it's BioWare's/EA's faith in MEA.
And yes, of course I'm going to pre-order it. I'm a Mass Effect fan.

I'll almost certainly still buy it, but probably not day 1. My main incentive to get it fast was so that I could discuss it and avoid spoilers. However, now that that is gone, I think I'll just sit back and wait for a sale. ME3 was only like $20 a month or so after release, so I will probably give it some time and save a buck. Granted, that discount was probably in response to the negative fan reaction, but I can't see the game being full price for too long.
However, it is still a Mass Effect game, and ME2 is in my top 3 games of all time. When more news about the game comes out, if I like what I'm hearing, I may yet change my mind and get it early/day 1. But going with what I know now, I can wait.

As a general rule, I don't pre-order games.
So my plans haven't really changed in that I'll be waiting to get more information.

With my post count it'd be pretty hard to pretend I'm not going to buy it.

My post count would make people think I live and breathe Bioware products. Not so.
I'm limited on money at the moment and have something far more important than games to spend it on. Family.
But if I did have the funds available to buy games, I do not believe I'd go and purchase Andromeda. As in no preorder, no day one, none of that.
If I did get it, it'd be later on or it'd be given/gifted to me.

Yes, I'll buy it. There'd have to be some epic, negative PR prior to or at release for me to consider not buying it.
I don't preorder games, excepting within 24 hours of release if it lets me download it. IMHO, pre-ordering earlier than that is idiotic and promotes bad behaviour by publishers.
