Yes he seems like an unpleasant guy and I'm glad I don't need to interact with him on a daily basis. But most of the community discussion I've seen on him is taking his comments out of context or twisting them to fit a specific narrative. It's hard to tell when reading online comments, but many of his comments seem tongue in cheek. I find them tasteless rather than funny, but I don't find them to be meant seriously. Mostly.

 

People complaining about him seem to be trying to discredit the story or characters in MEA because he works on the game. But his job has nothing to do with that, so it's a disingenuous argument that is just trying to find anything negative to post about MEA.

 

I have my doubts about the game and will wait for user reviews before making any decisions. But I won't use false arguments to influence my opinion.

Yes, I'll buy it. There'd have to be some epic, negative PR prior to or at release for me to consider not buying it.

I don't preorder games, excepting within 24 hours of release if it lets me download it. IMHO, pre-ordering earlier than that is idiotic and promotes bad behaviour by publishers.

Where I live, popular games sell out. Super Smash brothers, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and No Man's Sky all sold out.

Also, unpopular games sell out. Zero Escape and fire emblem. so if you didn't pre order you didn't play until a couple weeks for some of them.

I wouldn't say it's idiotic at all. It's just ensuring you get yours whenever the time comes. Especially if you're looking to get a collectors edition

Don't you have a decent internet connection?

 

My internet speed averages at about 40M (which is far from top of the line), and all my games are bought through Steam, GOG, and Origin (only a few).

I don't see the point in buying a plastic disk that I may break or lose, when I can download my games whenever I want.

 

Incidentally, the fact that everything is digital means that there is never a shortage of anything.

Not everybody lives where they can get decent broadband, unfortunately. But yeah, even 20M is better than going to a store.

Buy it if it mostly follows the Bioware RPG formula, my hardware is compatible, journalist and user (not BSN) are favorable. Preorder is a big nono.

Closing the forum doesn't bother me, but after reading a few more of ole Manveers words of wisdom, I think I'll wait and buy it used (if at all, depending on word of mouth). If he hates white people so much, surely he doesn't want any contributing to his paycheck.
