... i will admit i have only just played Inquisition - after DA2 my expectations were low BUT!

What the heck BioWare - where is she! She was the goddam queen of ferelden and the warden commander - 3 years missing and nobody seems to care? You had better be bringing her back In DA4 cure for the taint in hand or so help me!

I don't think I have ever been more invested in a characters wellbeing - my poor little Cousland became an orphan when Tim curry came in, saved the world, became queen and commander -

and then nothing - why is Alistair alone?! building these tapestry's means nothing if I don't get some kind of payout -

i mean heck i was there when she lost her virginity (yep took it to a weird place!). she loved Alistair so much that she

made him have awkward blood sugar sex magik with morrigan.... uuuuuuuhhhhh! WHERE IS SHE?!

i apoligise for the rant, but i love that kid...

We pretty much do from 9:32 Dragon to 9:44 Dragon with nothing from the warden queen/commander... I just want my baby to come home! she's been through so much already!

Its 4 am and I know where my warden at.. Tidus stays drunk in the Denerim Alienage   and has been known to throw darts at Leliana's painting even though he still loves her..

Yeah, bottoms up here. TL;DR anywhere?

(Actually, that's two drinks, one for the Warden, the other for taking it to weird places.)

I get that people have been harping on about this - but there needs to be something otherwise what's the point of the tapestry - if character don't matter why do world states?

And lol I killed leliana every chance I got and she's still alive :(

This is why it's better to let the Warden give her life to save Ferelden. No dubious quests to explain what she's up to, no god souls floating around and you can still have an interesting warden like Loghain or Alastair helping you out instead of...well, I forget the other guy's name.

As for Leliana....well, there is a possible ending which sort of explains it. It's kinda weird and spirity.

Or, no. I will just quash any hopes of finding out. My trust is dead. Thank you bioware for this life lesson.

One thing in all 24 games I never killed my warden--he or she is needed in the next game of DA:O. :P

My Dwarf Inquisitor BJ might be the HoF since Rikku disappeared into thin air never to be seen or heard from again. After all BJ is a Brand from Orzammar and wears a "S" brand mark..

My male Cousland is somewhere with Zevran and my female Cousland is off somewhere with Nate  :) but will get back to King Alistair as soon as she can. That's the way it is in my warden world.  :D

Clearly your Warden buggered off to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.

I agree that the treatment of the Warden in this game was fairly shoddy. I don't mind moving on from Origins, but the game is too deeply connected to the Warden's life for their absense to be dramatically satisfying.

I get the impression that Bioware must have planned to do something more with the Warden's absence, but backed out of it. So we were left with nothing more than a half-hearted handwave to excuse it. And an obvious plothole for Lelianamancers.

Its my position that the Warden ally for the whole Here Lies the Abyss chain was originally intended to be the Hero of Ferelden. But they for some reason decided against it. Probably due to the fact that the original Hero didn't have a voice, and they thought the fans would rebel if the voice was wrong.

So headcanon that your perfect, privileged little queen went to find a cure to the taint in order to create an heir. Grey Warden + Grey Warden = Infertile. No heir + Grey Wardens' shortened lifespans = there's going to be another succession crisis in Ferelden real soon. I'm sure the Queenie's subjects would be okay with her going off to find a cure for the taint in the interest of creating an heir and/or prolonging their monarchs' lives.

Do you think other people's Wardens would drop what they're doing to go find a cure for the Calling? No. Yours isn't the only one out there. There's also billions of headcanons to consider and they can't respect everyone's.

Do you think my freedom-fighting City Elf would give up her spot as Bann of the Denerim Alienage and risk bigoted human nobles taking back everything they gave the elves in her absence? No, but that's the story BioWare gave, so I have to come up with a reason she would go looking for a cure to the Calling (in order to live longer to push more elven rights).

That's the hand you've been dealt with, so play 'em.

Ghost Gal, I agree that's why I have fan stories for all four of my wardens two CE, a Elven Circle mage and a Orzammar brand. The only one that died was Chasha  (my mage) and that was 5 years after the blight from a fever.

Since Dwarf Inquisitor BJ looks similar to Rikku my DA:O Dwarf Brand she could be the long lost Rikku with longer dyed hair, few pounds lighter and a fabricated  Free Marches personal history which she doesn't like to talk about.. Is BJ Rikku? We may never know even her beloved best friend Leliana isn't sure and can't find the needed proof..

Seriously it was relative easy to design  BJ to  resemble what  Rikku may look like 10 years after the blight.

Unless it's praising and arselicking then of course it has to go. That or EA is cutting costs and Bio's going down the drain. 2 E3's with no gameplay to show for their flagship franchise, makes one start to wonder.

German Soldier, We will never know the truth but, judging by past experience its done to cut costs.   I realize the majority may not understand that and points a finger toward any reason they deem reasonable for a forum being shut down.

Secret Rare,I bet BW would rather see topics about the players "snowflakes" then the kvetching about their games or some of the more needless and unwinnable  circular arguments over a player's game choices.

BTW.Humor is what makes life enjoyable.. Nobody likes a sourpuss.

How about someone else get off their backsides and save the world?

I'm relatively happy with the idea of alive Wardens busy looking for a cure. It's a good reason for keeping them offscreen and a worthwhile goal, even if it might ultimately prove in vain. I actually don't expect them to find a cure, because it would strain the suspension of disbelief too far for them to succeed in something that no-one else has accomplished in over a thousand years. It'd also be hard to reconcile something as important as a cure being found, if the Warden is dead in certain people's worldstates and according to Bioware's default canon.

As it is, researching the cure nicely bookends the story of my Mage Warden. One again, they've found themselves digging through musty old books in pursuit of magical research, hearkening back to their time as an apprentice. Brings things rather full circle... if you pardon the unintentional pun.

Different character for each game.

Better that way anyway. Mass Effect was a mess by the end of the series because too many different variations and so Bioware had to compromise so much.

The Warden will always be my favorite Bioware PC but I can move on. The Warden was perfect where they finished.
