I hate to derail the sweet sadness, but you have to check out http://bsn.boards.net. Nothing will ever replace this place, with its huge population and its constant incoming stream of new blood. The new forum, though, already features a very familiar vibe and a membership roster that would likely make you feel at home. Most of the "heavy-weights" of the forums, as I've heard them called, are there already. Many of us in this thread are there already. Drop in and check it out, at the very least. Rapscalliousness summed it well with the illustration, complete with screenshot, of watching the shuttles pour into the arks. Nice.It's a goodbye for me as well.
I don't use Twitter, Reddit or Facebook so it will be a definitive farewell for me.
Now, that out of the way, resume mourning. I will definitely miss this place. Even those crazy, creepy conversations that made cringe now take on a certain charm in the twilight. I've met some great people here through the years, and have tried "pinging" some of them via email, so that they'll know where we've gone once this all ends. I hope we'll be able to keep up our nonsense chat and our "serious bidness" total game dissections well into the future. There is no community that shares my passion for these games like this community.
