Over a past few years there has been a plenty of troubling news coming from bioware. First lead writer left BW, then director of development did the same. And now forums. I can't help but start thinking that there is something really bad happening in bioware.

Back in 2012, shortly before Greg and Rey left bioware, there has been some really great news - initial announce of MEA and some other cool stuff. As a result there wasn't that much panic when Greg and Rey left bioware - that negativity was negated with previous positive news.

Now there is nothing to negate it, and things looking really unoptimistic. Im in a panic mode. I wan't to be wrong like never before, badly.

It is clear that something is happening within BioWare. Good or bad, something is happening. We might never know the full extent of it.

But if we sacrifice the forums to BioWare and EA; The Biotic God will rewards us.

Why is this man wearing lipstick?

I have no idea he was wearing lipstick, I just found a random guy on the internet, that's all.

One idea would be to pay people to give positive reviews, to counter the negative ones. Oh wait...they already do that.

Why to post positive news if you can close the forums? Also what positive news you are talking about?

At this point, just any news about the actual game would do.

Seriously.

Anything.

I double dare ya Bioware.

I have positive news:

I have found a way to save everyone's post history. You can continue posting on the threads you've made overtime, simply by registering an account at a new destination :)

None of this is troubling news, game development a is project based industry. I have friends in the animation industry and the turn over is significant from the lowest cog to the highest. The reason is you often have project contracts not a standard on going contract that non project based industries have, other studios are also always looking to headhunt talent vs growing it themselves which results in higher turnover. Many promotions and pay raises are the result of leaving one project/company and going to the another. This isn't 'negative' news this is just people acting normally in this industry.

How is this troubling? how is this significant? how is this not just standard operating procedure? We have seen plenty of other moves in other studios recently as well. This isn't something to go all chicken little over. The problem is that idiots having zero understanding of the nature of the industry look at their work place and think we don't have that much turnover ergo this is abnormal and post chicken little posts.

Thank Christ these forums are dying because the angst and idiocy of these forums far out strips any meaningful conversations.

Hey look, the sky is falling for the ten millionth time in a thread in the forums!!!!!

You know what threads like this remind me of? Every nutty religious author that I have ever had the misfortune of having assigned to me. I'm just going to say that there have been an awful lot of them writing about Armageddon and the End of Days claiming that the world is about to end (like right NOW). Six years and multiple manuscripts later, not one of those cuckoos has been correct.

  1. The Antichrist hasn't shown up.
  2. The world is still spinning and has not gone kaboom as yet.

Speaking of the Antichrist, if he ever shows up and turns out to be as lame and emo as Damien Thorne on that short-lived Omen series Damien, chances are that no one will ever have anything to worry about anyway.

I would say for the moment most of the world is in trouble.  Bioware, not so much.  I think most people are seeing things that are not there in relation to Bioware.

You know what they say "think good thoughts" to counteract.

I dunno, this feels more like the Twilight Zone where we have to think good thoughts, or Anthony Freemont will send us to the cornfield...

It would be pretty hard to top the dumpster fire that was the ME3 fallout. Most of the people involved in the development or promotion of the game, including the two men at the top, as well as Hudson and Merizan, left in the months after its release.

The news I've read over the last few months (key staff departures, Gaider's departure, the EA trailer being nothing but bull-shots and pre-rendered video), the lack of any news whatsoever on their new IP (despite being announced two years ago) and the Glassdoor reviews speak to a culture that's increasingly mired in rampant turnover and production problems. Don't be surprised if Andromeda is the final game from the studio.

I also would bet good money that Dragon Age 4 won't be announced.
