All right, Brockololly here and Brockololly over there.
Any reason the Morrigan thread from the DAO forums wasn't transferred over? Would be a shame to lose it...
That specific thread got corrupted on export (how appropriate) so I have to scrape it again. It's in my to-do.
I haven't been able to successfully search for my threads so what I did was make note of when they were created and gone back to find them based on their dates.
May be that it carried over and you just need to find it the hard way. Thats what I did for a couple of my threads.
You can find your threads in your post history - but the search function is disabled at the moment because I need to index millions of posts and that will take a toll on server. I'm planning on adding a google search to the site to get around this ![]()
I'm missing about a thousand posts from my post count. My guess is that some of it's going to be wonky for a while before they iron out the kinks.
I'm sure it's a lot of work. @__@
Do you know where these posts were? Your account is showing 4000 posts at the moment. It may be those replies are on forums that have not been imported yet. Some, for example, may be from this subforum which I would likely not import.

Ahh, okay. My God, this goes back a ways. Farthest post it found of mine was in the "The 'I Got Dragon Age:Origins'(or not yet) Thread"-

I have about 5,000 total on the BSN and the vaaaaast majority of them should be in the DAI subforum. There are maybe a hundred in the DA2 subforum and almost none anywhere else (including this specific help forum) so I'm not sure if the DA2 section not being imported yet would account for the loss...
But I'll wait til that's finished importing and then I'll see. Y'all have enough on your plate as it is without worrying about that.

Hi Fexelea, i just login in Fextralife and i don`t have any of my post history and my old posts appear with a different name, i`m not sure if i miss any step (i register there, confirmed the email link and i posted my username here) or if you are still working on it. Sorry for bothering you and thanks for all the hard work

just one question - with all of this archiving and exporting of the different forums going on, i might be in the minority, but i do NOT want my posting history to be copied over anywhere else, and prefer for it to be deleted when this board goes offline. with that being said, obviously i am not going to be exporting my profile, but i'd like to know if any posts i've made around bsn/tbf will be transferred over to the new locations. thanks in advance for a reply.

If you posted in a section that has been ported over, the post will be there (whether or not it ever ends up being associated with your account.)

the question is then if my name here will go along with whatever posts of mine that get batched.

Only if you request that they merge them.
It will say "Posted By" whatever your UserID was, but it won't be on your profile's posting history or count.

not sure what you mean about it not being on my history or post count. i don't care about that. what i do care about is that my own content is potentially being taken from this site and being transferred somewhere without my permission. the legality of it is questionable, and frankly it concerns me that there's a scramble to archive the contents of this forum en masse. when i signed up here, i agreed to the ToS put forth by Bioware and EA to do what they will with my content, not for other members to do so.

In that sense, it has already been cached many times, by many different entities, by a process that, as I understand it, is legal virtually everywhere.
In the same way that someone can copy your tweet and distribute it another way, someone can cache your post and distribute it another way.
The only way to prevent that is... not to post.

Google, for example, has many caches of this site, and they don't have any legal obligation to delete them unless something very significant changes internationally with regards to the related law.
