Second question is if sections that we've posted in don't make the cut what happens to those posts? Do they just hang in a vacuum?

I managed to save the two missing threads: (drinquisition and morrigan ones) - they will be added soon.

 

We are implementing a forum redesign in 24 hours - please drop by the forum and post around then and let me know how you like it.

We are working on ME3 at the moment. The board is huge xD

 

If you have posted someone that we aren't importing (like this subforum) then those posts will not be available in your post history. Waybackmachine and some other places may have the posts archived already, so perhaps those will be alternatives.

 

Either way, I'll do my best to get every game here!

1. You have got several languages, but unfortunately no German.

 

2. I couldn't create an account. I got an error message: The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used.

 

Maybe you don't want to have "German" e-mail addresses, do you?

German should be available, it seems it might have gotten accidentally uninstalled - I'll re-add it in the next couple of days.

The email issue has nothing to do with nationality, I assure you. Some email domains are unfortunately not strict with anti-bots and generate a lot of bot spam, so we had to disallow them. I believe a major german and a major russian provider are affected. I'm really sorry this is an inconvenience, but the bots were driving us crazy. If you can, please try from a hotmail/outlook/yahoo/gmail or such major international provider.

Until Fexelea has the time and energy to add a google site search, you can do your own with the following:

 

site:fextralife.com [search string]

 

like so:

For HTTrack, I set it up to stay on the same domain, 0 external (except specifically allowed cdn files such as jquery) since images/videos are not stored here, set the speed and simultaneous threads low so as not to bog anything down here, started it in the Keep forum and let it go. It was still running 3 days later when I left town. I can only hope my 2TB drive isn't full when I return.. or that the storms back home knocked anything out (including the internet connection, which is a real fear with how crappy it is).

 

Nice to see the import coming along so well, and I look forward to the site redesign! I'm still out of town but checking in here and there to see how things are going. Thanks again for all the hard work Fexelea.. if you'd like help archiving with the Java / MySQL stuff when I get back let me know, I can do that as well since HTTrack may not get everything (and yours sounds faster, as well - I think after 3 days mine had only retrieved about 25GB.. but then, I set threads and speed low so maybe that was a bad thing to do..)

 

I hate being gone during these last days and being unable to assist. bleh.

thank you for your kind lines and for your explanation! Concerning the nationality - that should be a joke. 

I appreciate your sorrows about bots, of course. Personally, I haven't got bots. However, if the email domain is threatened, I can understand your decision.

It looks like my post count is around 4000, so I've definitely had some of my stuff successfully merged.

 

To find my post count, I ended up thumbing through the alphabetical list of members and checking the number next to my name. Is there a faster or easier way for people to check?
