It accomplishes nothing. Banning me won't accomplish anything either (I realize that's likely to happen.)

 

I can't write to "Bioware.com" to address any issues because the e-mail isn't monitored.

 

I can't make requests directly because they are ignored.

 

Please, I am begging you, stop. Just try and understand what we're going through. Try and look at us as human beings. We are suffering and you are pointlessly kicking us when we are down.

Your efforts are much appreciated. I am being somewhat oblique in an effort to avoid overt rules violations (a corner BioWare has pushed me into that is absurd and deeply unkind) where the issue that needs addressing is a bannable offense if one attempts to even discuss it.

 

But at this point, vindictively poring through group and member histories for excuses to punish them during the last weeks of the forum such a cruel thing for them to be doing that I am beside myself.

 

I have no concept of the motivations that would prompt people to do this. If it was only one, I could understand, but it's a concerted effort by the entire team, and...

 

 

It's just so cruel and pointless.

I don't think it's the mods doing that on their own... more likely someone is going through all the old stuff and reporting people. The mods generally aren't looking for extra work.

I'm certain that I can guess the identity of at least one person who might be doing this. Especially since he's been uncharacteristically quiet the last couple of days.

It is happening systemically in both public and private group subforums (in the latter case reporting couldn't be the cause.)

For someone extremely dedicated (and some folks here are nothing if not dedicated), I don't think that's a barrier. I believe anyone can view - and report - any private discussion forum if they have the direct link. It's been an issue in the past.

For someone extremely dedicated (and some folks here are nothing if not dedicated), I don't think that's a barrier. I believe anyone can view - and report - any private discussion forum if they have the direct link. It's been an issue in the past.

 

True, but I'm the one who developed the workaround for that issue. Both groups I administrate are truly private, they cannot be viewed by non-staff or non-members. You can even test it, as both are publicly listed.

 

Click under groups on The Shelter or Muh Waifu. You won't be able to see anything, not even by using the "Most Recent Post" function in the social groups forum listing.

 

This isn't happening as result of reports. I have more information than I can't get away with disclosing which further reinforces that.

I didn't even know this was happening. It's kind of screwed up. We're not rioting through the forum. A bit of silliness is all I've really seen. I don't understand why they can't just let us have what is essentially pretty damn innocent fun, in our last few weeks here.

Also, ugh, *hugs* from someone that you don't know because I couldn't stand reading your post without feeling the need to.

Emotion is going to get the better of me if I don't take moment. I don't know what I'll come back to. Given what's currently happening, this appears to be passing un-noticed because efforts are currently concentrated quite heavily on posts from 2014. If someone is going through private groups I'm shocked I haven't been banned... and that is low whoever is going that far back.  Why are they suddenly getting heavy handed with modding now?  This place isn't going to be around in three weeks.

I guess the posting frequency has dropped sharply. Why bother discussing stuff here when it's all gone in 3 weeks? Better to move those conversations to the new forums.

Although you can see how some active threads don't grow quickly or even shrink in realtime because the mod's deletion keeps pace with the posters. ^^

That's true. On this particular forum, seems like people have been venting and complaining at a pretty good clip - at least so far.

Don't call it complaining. Check your privilege there. Complaining is a 'triggering' term for the cisvocal community. The proper term is 'turbo whining'.
