I would say it once again: NEVER PREORDER GOD DAMMIT!

You do what you want, and I'll do what I want.

TL:DR: Normally I would say: your money, your problem. In the preorder case, you give legitimacy for bad products and it hurts me and every gamer out there.

I'm not against or for preorders.  It just situational for me and how much faith I have in a game.  I will say this my faith that ME:A will be good exceeds my faith in reviews.  I've played a number of games that got great reviews that I absolutely hated (Borderlands comes to mind), and I've played games with mixed or even bad reviews that I loved (Dragon Age 2 is great, so many people hate it).  I prefer to form my own opinion on things.

If it was only a personal risk I wouldn't give a single f***, do what you want with your money. The deal is that people pay before seeing reviews, based only on hype, and now it is very common to release sub-par games because a large chunk of the money has been paid for.

^^^^^
Not that people care of course. But it irks me to know publishers are in the mindset of getting most of their money from the preorders before people know what kind of game it is. It's in the same vein of review embargoes. The publishers would rather invest in marketing rather than the actual game.

Is this a bad time to mention that I've already preordered Ubisoft's Return of Dedsec Collectior's Edition for Watch Dogs 2 and would have paid more if it had included the robot?

It's little different for me than if I order a book from an author whose work I've been consistently enjoying. I can make a bet that I'll enjoy the work based on how I've enjoyed the previous work.

There are a lot of entertainment material such as comic books and certain books that are avaliable in other countries but are not avaliable in mine. There is an import store in the capital city of my country but it's legitimately cheaper to order online than pay the traveller's fee and the price of purchase.

I did this with "Astro City - the Tarnished Angel": I was able to see some samples of the writing and arkwork and so went for it online. It helped that my local library was able to acquire a copy from another library in the country so I could read it beforehand. I think I had to wait a while to recieve it. Thank god for libraries.

I did decide to order "The Masked Empire" based on liking the samples I could find and my interest in the premise of the novel. I did the same with "Vol'jin: Shadows the Horde".

Hey there fellow N7's!

Just wanting to know if there is an eta time or date on when ME.A will be available for pre order?

Am super excited to see what bioware has been doing this whole time. Im sure its nothing short of perfect when it comes to our favorite game series. Everytime I go to Gamestop im always asking them

any news on pre order date for ME.A? Same response is always nothing yet. But its gotten to where

I dont even ask anymore. All I have to do is look at them and they say nothing yet man lol!

Looking forward to playing Mass Effect Again. I am currently on my 1477th save so far on ME1.

Dont ask on the other 2 games its alot worst. Mass Effect for life!

Nope, I think the release date we have is a placeholder date but I can suggest you keep an eye on Gamestop's website for news about when Mass Effect: Andromeda is avaliable for pre-order.

It should pop up as a search item when the store have it avaliable for pre-order sometimes with what editions the store will have although the editions may only become avaliable for pre-order later on.

This is usually what I do although it's best if you find the website that belongs to your specific country since stores can differ from country to country. It'll saves you the trip to the store until release day.

I share your excitment for the game  :)

Game has been up for preorder on Amazon since E3. If you're waiting on other retailers like GameStop, it might be a while.

Prime members now get a 20% discount on all unreleased games up to two weeks post-launch, though this doesn't appear to be reflected for MEA just yet.

I assume this is for PC? I know this doesn't apply to console games.

Applies to everyone. I bought the Xbox One versions of Far Cry Primal and Mirror's Edge Catalyst for $47.99 each with this offer.

Huh. It won't make me preorder MEA, but that's a nice deal. I don't recall a discount when I preordered TW3 last year. (Yes, I have preordered a game in the last 4 years.) I paid full price for that one, I believe. I've been a Prime member since the beginning of time.

The offer has only been around since January, IIRC. I'm sure it will be extended to MEA in due time.

Unless you have money you really don't need (in which case, I can help you with that), and unless you are into buying limited editions with overpriced plastic thingamabobs inside, pre-ordering video games is objectively bad.

It literally offers no advantage to the buyer whatsoever. In fact, you usually pay more (due to depreciation of your money), for a product that might not (or barely) work. (I.e. Batman Arkham Knight's infamous PC version, Assassin's Creed Unity, Just cause 3, etc.)

It does extend to MEA. I pre-ordered it for 47.99 back on Jun 18th. I pre-order EVERYTHING. Even games I have no intent to buy just in case I end up wanting it. I have FF15, FF7 remake and Zelda: Breath of the Wild pre-ordered and I don't even own a console. LOL. Even if you forget to cancel, it's Amazon. You can return it at no shipping cost and get a full refund.

There is literally nothing to lose and $12 to gain thru Amazon Prime. That's not including the fact that you don't pay taxes on Amazon purchases which is additional savings. It is objectively good.
