I was reading stuff on Andromeda and I remembered what I thought of few years ago, when all hell broke loose over 3 color coded "endings". Could it be that the first chapter in Andromeda will actually be closing chapter of ME3?

First, Bioware is too big a company and too experienced to make such amazing games as ME 1, 2 and 95% of ME3 and then f*ck everything up with that ending. And leave our Shepard in the London rubble breathing, just like that. When you look at all three ME games of the first cycle and see how much thought and detail went into the story and production of every game, I can't imagine they would just leave us all hanging in what was supposed to be the epic conclusion of Shepard's fight against the Reapers.

Second, humanity is going to Andromeda and it's not coming back. "We are going further than ever before. To Andromeda. To build a new home for  humanity"  they say in the official ME A trailer. and that leads me to think we have to leave Earth behind in ark ships like Hyperion and go and find ourselves a new home, because life on Earth will not be possible anymore. Something has to cause cataclysm of such proportions that humanity has to leave Earth. And I'm thinking that could be that final battle with Reapers which we actually never had in ME3. So if Shepard lives, as the "destroy" option from ME3 shows us (and Bioware's book from collector's edition states) we could have proper battle where Reapers would be destroyed, but at such a cost that it would be a Pyrrhic victory. Shepard and his forces would perish, as well as the Earth which would become practically inhabitable. Humanity would be forced to build ark ships with what resources are left and leave Milky Way for Andromeda.

Third, Bioware already had conclusion of the first ME in the first chapter of ME2, with the destruction of Normandy SR1 and Shepard's death. First chapter of ME3 concludes ME2 with Shepard on trial for the things that transpired in the previous game. I know this is a bit diffrerent situation, as Andromeda starts another cycle for ME franchise, but I just want to point out that Bioware is no stranger to concluding stories from previous game in the beginning of the new game.

In my opinion, that would not contradict "Shepard's story is concluded" and "This will be game with different characters and different story in different period." Shepard's story would indeed be concluded, Andromeda certainly is a different game with different characters, and traveling to another galaxy would take few hundred years using standard ME's FTL travel and cryogenic sleep. Something like stasis chambers for Protheans on Ilos in ME1.

In any way, we'll have to wait for a long time still to see what they have in store for us :)
