So I remeber yesterday someone was asking how to trigger the meteor ore event and I tried it again today and I definatley found a way to trigger it.  Using the same method I have gotten the event in the exact same position in my last 4 or 5 playthroughs every single time but one, before even starting a blight quest .

First off, I'm playing on PS3 so I don't know if this works on all the the different versions.

So.... the first thing I did was play the game to the end of Lothering(obviously) and then went to the bit where you first go to camp. From here I did everything I needed to do there(conversations, etc) and then spoke to Levi.

I then went straight to Soldiers Peak and finished the quest, it doesn't seem to matter how you finish it. After this I went back to camp and did anything I needed to do there.

From here I travelled to Soldiers Peak again and went through all of Levi's dialogue(I don't think Levi's dialogue is important to triggering it, but I'm not sure) and sold Levi anything I wanted to sell him.

Then I went to Mikhail and first selected the option "So you're a weapon smith?" (I think this is what triggers it as he says the thing about working with lots of different metals). I then went through the other dialogue option and then sold him anything I wanted to sell him.

From here, before leaving the peak I saved as I always do before leaving an area. I then travel to Lake Calenhad (it always happens on the way to Lake Calenhad but I haven't tried any other locations). On the way to Lake Calenhad it has triggered the event every single time except 2 times.

On the two occasions when it hasn't triggered both times I have got the event with the wolves and the traps. The first time I killed all the wolves and carried on as normal and the event triggered later on the way to the Circle tower. The second time I was defeated by the wolves and had to load back at Soldiers Peak, I then travelled to Lake Calenhad again and got the same wolves event and lost again. I then had to load back to Soldiers Peak again and travelled to Lake Calenhad....again and this time instead of the wolves I got the meteor ore event again.

This method has gotten me Starfang before doing any blight quests every single time but one, it may be coincidence but seeing as it has worked 4 or 5 times in a row I think there is more to it than just luck. I haven't tested lots of different methods of triggering it so I'm not sure how many of these steps are neccessary to trigger the event but it works pretty much everytime.

p.s. If anyone tries this let me know how it goes, I want to see whether I'm on to something or if I'm just really lucky to get it at the exact same point everytime.

I think you're just really lucky. I've gotten it on a few playthrough's where I didn't talk to Levi at all, let alone do the Soldier's Peak quest. Then other playthrough's I've done Soldier's Peak towards the beginning and didn't get the meteor event until almost the end, if at all.

Good info, but more importantly, let's chat about how you keep getting your **** kicked by the wolves random encounter...

The meteor event with the baby? Is that the one? If so, I got that the first time I travelled anywhere on the map, and had no idea it was so rare...

traveling between Flemeth Hut and Denerim worked for me every time. completing nor entering Wardens Keep is certainly not required to trigger the event.

about wolves: http://img43.imagesh...nooverwhelm.jpg

not once was overwhelmed in this spot with mage, DW and 2H. cant rule out lucky, but will go there again if needed.

The thing with the Ore encouter is that its a lot easier to get early, before you have a lot of other random encounter queued up. I think there's only three or four that you can get right after leaving Lothering, before you do your first main quest, so if you walk around a bit early you're more likely to get it.  Talking to Levi and going to Soldier's Peak not required.

I can personally confirm this, as I just got the meteor event and I just downloaded Warden's Peak like, 2 hours ago!  I haven't even played it yet--I was just on my way to Denerim to knock off some sidequests.  I haven't so much as spoken with Levi--he's still in camp with a big ! over his head!

Yes, it's completely random. But Kepha is right, if you don't have a lot of other random events queued up (haven't taken a whole lot of quests) you're more likely to get it. That means, in the early game, if you just wander around the map without taking quests, you'll eventually get it.

Once you start taking the board quests, mages quests, and gaining the armies - it's incidence drops because other random occurrences are higher up the queue.

I was playing a rogue on that playthrough. I can do it easy with a mage or warrior but I suck at playing rogue.

Probably right but seeing as I got it 4 or 5 times in a row at the exact same point I thought I should see if it worked with anyone else. It's worth a try right.

Seems to have worked for one other person. You probably are right though.

Me personaly I found it easier just after Lothering to keep travelling between areas. Pick a couple, it doesn't really matter which, although you may want to avoid going to the major quest areas (Brecilian forest, Orzammar, Redcliffe) because if you start their particular story lines without finishing them, it could cause trouble. I have had great success travelling between Lothering and Flemeth's hut. Soldier's Peak and Honnleath are good spots  too. It's totally random, but it does seem the earlier you make the attempt, the easier it is to get it.

For me, I'd already done Broken Circle and the Redcliffe quests and was planning on doing some sidequests in Denerim before tackling Warden's Keep and then moving on to the Sacred Ashes quest. I figure I have a fair amount of random encounters queued up; it was just sheer random chance that the very first one that popped up for me after downloading Warden's Keep was the meteor event.

I got the meteor event before I ever met Mikhail, but right after I finished the Deep Roads, so I immediately tried to take the metal to Branka. She's a paragon smith, right - I figured she was where I was supposed to take it.

It didn't work.

The Meteor event was the first random event I got in my playthrough.

I just got it and thought I was special. I laughed madly as this seems to be a reference to Superman.

But I did not get it anywhere near Warden's Peak nor the Circle. I have done similar things. I finished Lothering, visited camp, went to Warden's Peak and did all that. Revisited camp for sales and chat. Then I went straight to Redcliffe and ran around there for a bit. I protected the village during nightfall. That's when I took on the Chantry board tasks and I left for the Caravan to the east. Out of nowhere "The Kents" show up near a meteor. I am now on pause writing this.

I know it's random but I thought mabey you could bump it up the que by doing certain actions.
