Two critiques, but other than that I love Tempest and like DW.

  1. I recognize that toxic cloud was taken because you show solo capability.  But with a group, I really think it better to supplant it with something else.  And last I checked poisoned weapons upgrade primarily only benefited normal attacks.  Seems like that whole left tree of sabotage could be swapped with something else.
  2. The only part of your build that makes it DW is the skirmisher attack.  Seems like the damage would be better with archery due to the higher base damage of bows and swapping out skirmisher for something else.  I would have liked to see a few more DW skills for a DW build.  I admit I didn't listen to the whole audio, so perhaps it was built like this on purpose so you could easily go archer or DW depending on gear drop.

I don't like to solo.  Not because of difficulty, but because I love the party banter.  And I generally bring 1 of each class with support builds.  Warriors bring taunt and party guard with upgraded Horn of Valor.  A rogue brings lost in the mist through toxic cloud upgrade.  Mages bring barrier and dispel.  Given this, I would probably swap the whole left side of sabotage tree with the right side of DW tree.  That gives twin fangs and deathblow which IMHO is superior to poisoned weapons and toxic cloud.  Let the AI handle mitigation party buffs.

FWIW, I think it benefits all hits, including active abilities. I deduce this from pre-Trespasser experience with Sera and Thousand Cuts, without any intervening auto-attacks. The target (assuming it survived) definitely had poison DoT after TC.

I haven't tried Poison Weapons since Trespasser, since as you note, there are higher priorities for that skill point.

I have no doubt that special attacks will poison your foe if you have poisoned weapons on.  But the upgrade for more damage (+25% damage) only applies to normal attacks.  So for example, thousand cuts with poisoned weapons will do the normal amount of damage, but will also poison your enemies.  But the little upgrade does nothing for 1k cuts, twin fangs, shadowstrike, flank attack, throwing knives, etc.

Really I only take poisoned weapons for 2 reasons...and even then it is only on AI-controlled rogues.

  1. Early game means to help ai-ranged rogues to self-heal and not drink so many damn potions
  2. A quick way to get to toxic cloud and it's upgrade for some party damage avoidance

I can see it's value for solo'ing.  It's the rogue version of guard.  But for groups and general play, I would never get it for my own character.  I'd much rather have twin fangs and death blow.  Or Twin Fangs and Shadow Strike.  Or hell I'd even take spinning blades over it.  Just saying there are other places to put skills that are more fun.
