Sometimes a whole tile just won't bake, It happens to me so rarely, I usually fix it by making all items environment in the space, then bake, and it fixes it. Then I can bring back any placeables to being useable and all's good.

But I can't seem to do it this time. No matter what I do, if I make any placeable to useable, then bake, it makes whole tile a non-walk zone.

Is there a trick to it?

If it's exterior, it'll be easy.  But I'm guessing it's interior.  Are you using walkmesh cutters?  If so, what do they look like?

No, it's exterior! that's why I'm surprised, it's really rare for this to happen. I did use walkmesh cutters, all rectangles, except one was L shaped. Is that the problem? Should I stick to rectangular shapes?

I set all placeables to environment, and removed the walkmesh cutters and it then baked properly.

I wanted some of these placeables to be useable, though, so I'll ad them back in one by one.

I could swear I read one time that if a useable placeable straddled a pair of tiles (exterior) that it would hose up baking, but that has not been my experience in this whole project, of a half-dozen other exterior maps.

What are you thinking regarding the walkmesh cutter shapes?

Okay, since it's exterior, just get rid of the walkmesh cutters, set the unusable objects to environmental, and use the terrain walk/non-walk tool instead to define the unwalkable areas (the same tool you use to raise/lower terrain, add water, etc.).  Since that turns on and off exact polygons, you won't be splitting polygons and you won't go over the limit.  You won't have as fine control over the unwalkable areas, but it's okay to have a little wider unwalkable area than the object really would have.

Thank you! I changed the placeables to just be walkable. They're headstones, I wanted them useable, in order to read them, but too many of them, and same problem. Now I see why I have not had this problem before, I rarely have lots of useable items in a single area. I learned something useful tonight, thanks Tchos.
