"There has to be something we can agree on." "There has to be some deal that will work for us both." Various iterations of that sort of line.
The discussion prior to that abbreviated line deals with the Inquisitor and Alexius going back and forth about what the Inquisition can do for him in order to make use of "his" mages. It's a quid pro quo situation. This conversation is picked up again in the throne room in Redcliffe castle at the start of the IHW mission.
Of course, this is dependent on the dialogue lines you choose; it might not play out that way at all depending on your choice. For example, in the castle you can just launch into "I know this is a trap" without playing along.
