Sorry if another thread already exists, but I've enjoyed reading the various DA novels and haven't seen any more solicited.
Has anyone heard whether more Dragon Age novels are coming?

I don't believe any have been announced. Gaider mentioned a year or so ago he was working on a novel that involved Fenris, but this was before he left to work at Beamdog, and he has since confirmed that the book was canceled or he decided not to continue it. He said that it wasn't coming together, so I don't know if that means he lost interest in it, if him leaving Bioware meant he didn't want to/could no longer write books for them, or what. Possibly his rough draft could be picked up by another author if Bioware wants that story told.
I would assume news of new DA supplemental materials will not come out until MEA has been out for some time, so as not to distract from the marketing. And probably closer to when/if DA4 is announced. Kind of like how the four new ME novels are coming out before/around MEA's launch.

I guess they think us fans have the attention spans of puppies, or -- SQUIRREL! -- something. Also, while I know that there is a lot of overlap with fans of both franchises, there are also a good chunk of players who only focus on one of them (DA or ME), so those people wouldn't be distracted.

That book about the Orlesian Fereldan war with Maric and Loghain was some of the worst, most forcefully contrived writing I've ever seen. And that's with reading the Twilight series.

Well now that Bioware will be using Twitter as its "official" communication platform, they can't include too much information at once and exceed the 140 character limit. So they have to pick and choose what content to promote ![]()
Tbh I'm glad Gaider left the team. His greatest achievement for Dragon Age is that he wrote Morrigan, but that more of an achievement of the voice actress imo.

Well, that was his first time writing a book, so I think his writing has improved since then. Not to excuse the quality of the first book, but he has demonstrated improvement, which is good. I honestly don't expect high standards in books based off of video games, so I read them more for the lore and filling in background details for the games, rather than because I expect they will be a great read.

hopefully never again. Some novels were nice, but overall, they only add storylines that are ommited from the main game and ultimatelly only add a passing comment from NPCs about what happened in the books.

I agree, but i would like to add that each main plot of whom he was lead writer for Dragon Age was contrived and poorly written.Tbh I'm glad Gaider left the team. His greatest achievement for Dragon Age is that he wrote Morrigan, but that more of an achievement of the voice actress imo.
