So... i started a fresh Character. I am level 3 and i have 5 Ability points. ( +1 for being human ) So... if i start off as level 0 i would get 1 point for hitting level 1... level 2... i get another 1 point... level 3 i get another 1 point... so by level 3 i should have 3 points + 1 Extra for being Human. = 4 Points total.   Yet my Character has 5 Points.... and i haven't even used the DLC necklace of master study... Where the heck is that extra point coming from? Assuming i start off as level 0.   2nd part of the question.. Sometimes during the start of the Game when i fight those Shades after the bridge breaks.. They drop items. Other times i play a Character they don't drop anything. Am i bugged?  




P.S i should also note i used the Tacticians Renewal right when i got to haven so yeah.. i got 5 points to spend... 6 if i use the Ability Necklace.

You're probably not bugged.

 

You have two skills at the start of the game for all races and classes. So all characters start with two ability points at level 1. 

Then you get one skill point for each level, so two points for level 2 and 3.  And finally one extra for being human. So five is the correct number. Nothing wrong there

 

As for the shades dropping stuff, that's normal. You just lucked out on the random generator and got some loot. Nothing to worry about.
