My system specs are:
Core 2 Duo E8200
4Gb RAM
Geforce 8800GT 512Mb
Realtek HD Sound
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
The game crashes randomly for me with a standart error message. The problem seems to be similar to the "memory leak" that DAO has because when I turn off one of my CPU cores I am able to play the game longer. With 2 cores on it crashes almost immediately, with 1 core I can play for about 8-10 mins until it crashes. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling all drivers, DirectX, PhysX and Visual C++, switching to window mode and tuning the graphics down. Nothing worked, obviously. Any help would be appreciated.

If you had this problem in DA also I would assume you are having some type of hardware issue. Try removing some of your RAM and see if the crash still happens.

Thanks for your reply, but it is unlikely that I have problems with hardware because everything except ME2 works just fine(i.e. other games, 1080p movies...). Even Empire: Total war runs smoothly and ETW is known to have many RAM-related problems.

Are you overclocking anything?Sauronych wrote...

My CPU and RAM were overclocked but I have already tried reverting them to default and the game still crashes.TormentedPhoenix wrote...

Hmm... Did you ever get DA working?

Yes, the fix I mentioned in the first post(switching CPU affinity to "CPU 1") fixed all my problems with DA. For ME2, as I have already mentioned, it only delays the crash for a couple of minutes.TormentedPhoenix wrote...

There was a thread about something similar to this yesterday. I'm looking for it.

I don't have any codec packs installed and my sound drivers are up to date... It seems my problem can't be resolved right now:( Huge thanks for your help anyway. I'll try completely disabling sound, maybe that will work.

I'll keep looking and I'll message you if I find something. I'm on and off because I'm at work

Update: installing 196.34 beta drivers for my graphics card seems to have fixed the problem. I've played for 30 minutes without crashes. Didn't have time to test more, but I hope it is permanently fixed. TormentedPhoenix, thanks again for your help.
Update 2: played for a couple of hours with zero crashes. Hooray! I should have noticed earlier that Nvidia have released new beta drivers.
