Thanks and sorry for the grammar. Not my main language.

Brutal + impactful as in visceral? Because for instance a Reaver two-handed warrior feels visceral as you do a lot of heavy "in your face" action in how it kills things, while a Templar two handed warrior can be considered brutal and impactful because it has a certain wrath of heaven / spell purge combo which "nukes" the area but it feels more like a mage-warrior than a warrior.
So Reaver would be pretty good for you, I think, but they are a bit more fragile than the other warriors, they are very good offensively especially with a two hander, but make sure you dodge enemy arrows or have a real tank take the aggro while you cleave from the side. Champion two hander is also in your face combat, but it's a slog most of the time =basically a match who can last longer (usually the champion).
Among rogues an assassin has the biggest "hits" ... say hello to mark of winning/ mark of death. But as a class it is pretty finicky and squishy, you get hit a few times on higher difficulties and you go down (if you are dual wielding). AND mark of death feels more like a mage spell ultimately rather than a rogueish move.
dual wield TEMPEST would be the most "in your face" rogue I guess. You use these things called flasks (abilites) which slow down time/ freeze enemies/ allow you to spam your most devastating attacks. It has constant high dps (less burst than assassin but still MASSIVE). But as any rogue a tempest is more of a dancer than a brute. Artificer I would recommend as they are primarily for archery although dual wield is also possible.
Oh and mages. Crowd control....and good aoe damage if you have trespasser abilities and items. But ultimately way less damage than those rogues. Inferno fire mine Knight enchanter is the usual go-to close combat mage like the arcane warrior but more "magy". Very reliable and consistent in it's durability and damage output due to barrier generation when dealing damage. It is a very good class for a first time run. The other less common but possible more solid option is close quarter combat necromancer...that one can actually dish out pretty amazing aoe damage but it requires in game farming and collection of certain special items to make that perticular build work, and you drop like a fly without barrier or some form to revive yourself.
Yeah so try I would guess:
1. Two handed reaver (mobile brute)
2. dual wield tempest (fencer/ dualist type)
3. Knight enchanter (arcane warrior light)
4. CQC Firemine-bomb necromancer (in your face pyromaniac..kill or be killed or both)
5.Yo yo bomber artificer (close combat archer)
6. two handed Champion (just the last man standing)

For the first playthrough i would not recommened reaver or dual wield. Both can dish out high damage but they
are hard to master.
Try a mage with fire/lightning. When you like melee-mage take knight enchanter later, if you like
to be ranged (like me) take necromancer for nice damage with walking bomb spell.
EDIT: My first playthrough was human two-handed warrior (templar) and it was nice, even
if lacking in single-target-damage though.

Provided you have Trespasser DLC I'd say 2H Reaver warrior would be by far the best. They are really really easy to play and incredibly effective.

Usually favor melee, like class that has good mobility and a brutal, impactful feel, capacity to solo content on harder difficulties? I highly recommend 2H champion. you are very good in defense, and use To The Death properly with Combat Roll, Charging Bull, Mighty Blow, Pommel Strike...etc your dps will be also good enough. and I can use my 2H champion to solo every fight in the base game+3 DLC, however if using a reaver or templar there are certain fights I can't solo through.

If you have trespasser go with Reaver. Get the amulet of death syphon and use the Rage n Roll Reaver guide. It is by far the best damage for warriors and is non-stop. Starflorge also has a reaver video that is really good.
If you don't have trespasser, then test out 2H Champion and 2H Templar. I personally like Templar but if you have problems dying go Champion.

...and I'd like class that has good mobility and a brutal, impactful feel to it.
I'd put in a word for DW Rogue Assassin. You'll move quickly all around the battle field, dishing out tremendous damage (when leveled up a bit). I think it's the most fun class to micromanage, but they do need micromanagement.

I'll have my vote for Artificer.
IMO, Archer is the safest class to play before Skyhold, and after specz Artificer is devastating with Throwing blades followed by Leaping Shots. You won't need Focus to drop nukes so you have 1 more free skill slot (Focus is not important with trials on anyway). But i admit that Artificer only reaches his full potential mid game forward, when you have access to tons of critical chance and enough skill points to spend (I think 75% crit chance is acceptable although i normally run with 90%).
You can search the gear suggestion on google. I recommend the Enhanced amulet of Barrier for defense (both your guard and barrier can be quickly wiped out by enemy skills but you can generate barrier faster than guard, and i feel there is not a perfect amulets for offense_Malika comes with a negative option_so i choose defense amulet and free a masterwork slot for offense).
Skill rotation:
-Archer: Hook tackle --> throwing blades --> leaping shots. You can deal 30k+ damage per rotation in less than 5 sec.
-DW: you can skip hook tackle and go for throwing blade + other active skill (prefer denonator: Shadow strike/Deathblow/Twin Fangs)
Important skills:
-Aegis of the rift: protect yoursefl againts range attack while you take down the main threat --> THE WARRIORS.
-Knockdown powder and/or Elemental mines: like above mentioned, the warrior enemies are your doom. Defenders one shot Counter/Shield Bash you, and brutes spin to win. The only time defender will put his shield down is when he sleep. Yeah! Seriously. Put these fkers to sleep then rape them. If they are high on cafein and won't sleep, toss elemental mines into their faces.
-Poisoned weapon with upgrade: this is the best healing skill of the game, with or without trials.
-Stealth: useful at the start of battle when your barrier is down.
Sigils of deathroot for pure damage or sigils of great bear for throw everything. These 2 are highly recommended for Artificer.
IMO Artificer is more enjoyable than rage roll reaver. You use more skills to deal damage and crowed control rather than rolling around (which i think is kinda dump) and won't find yourself in critical status most of the time.

Chain Lightning
Energy Barrage (Energy Bombardment upgrade)
Immolate (either upgrade, prefer the increased damage)
Winter's Grasp
Fade Step (Chill Step upgrade)
Barrier
Spirit Blade
Resurgence
Shield Bash (extra guard damage upgrade)
Lunge and Slash (extra damage per distance upgrade)
Combat Roll (damage enemies you roll through upgrade)
Charging Bull (increased speed and control upgrade)
Spell Purge (Spell Shatter upgrade)
Blessed Blades (either upgrade, prefer cooldown reduction of other Templar abilities)
Wrath of Heaven (extra damage and extended stun upgrade)
Both have melee and magical options, and are excellent at supporting the team and can hold their own.
